30xx Series Founders Edition

Just end me, just end me.... Not preorder, no UK restocks it seems. Should have stuck to consoles and preordered a Series X ;)

There's always AMD....

I've actually blown my entire new workstation budget on 3DFX cards, and big box games. I've lost all hype for the launch, and stock situation is a joke.

I'm going to try on Thursday with the possible restock, if nothing. I'm going to refurb my socket 754 system, and slap in some 3DFX cards and play old games until AMD announces something, and it causes NVIDIA to suddenly have stock for days.

There is! I don't think I'll be able to pick up a 3080 before the AMD RDNA 2 event anyway, so I'll be forced to observe the competitor, haha. May work out for the best in the end.

That's what I'm thinking. If we're lucking we near or at 3080 performance. Might as well keep trying the NVIDIA site until then, but otherwise we get to see what they offer.

Some more benchmarks comparing my 1080ti to the new 3080. It's clear that the 3080 excels at 4k, and although the CPU restriction at higher FPS is a factor, I'm not sure it's the only factor?

According to HUB there is some architectural bottlenecks going on at lower resolutions depending on the games. They suggested it is more difficult to keep the heavy core count GPU fed at 1440p and under. Though iirc SOTTR was one of the games that scaled better :p

When was it available at 4pm? Was that launch day?

I've pretty much given up, and the main page no longer has a 'out of stock' button, what does that mean?

From what I can tell, the product page itself requires a token before it can query the stock via the API's, which is then where the out of stock or add to cart button comes from.
I forget the url it used now, but it started erroring when the token changed.

This token is generated from the other pages, when you click "See all buying options" and then click back through to the product page, if there is stock and a button to do so... something like that.

I was checking it out the other day and noticed things changing on the site, one of the background calls stopped working and erroring, until I generated a new token by switching between the pages, but since then, listing page no longer links back to the product page so no token is generated and no background call for stock checking takes place.

.....nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3090/?ncid=em-prod-16254&mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTlRReVpEaG1aV0UzWmpjeCIsInQiOiJ5UENLT3NJbTVXdzU3dHFpABCDEFGHI-I CHANGED THIS ZROTBPQnpMQnI2enQ2TzdyeFIwRXFwZDhsT2lGU013aCsrVXZDTUd3SWtiQXVvR000anN6dml6WnZUWlBxNTllSE9CQ1Bzd1IwSGtibDZ1dlROclB6ZVd0VTRqc242QXZ1TiJ9#cid=_em-prod_en-gb

When I loaded that page, it showed ok for me for a while (the out-of-stock button), whereas normal navigation to the page didn't show it or run the background query.

But, it may have nothing to do with that.. there appears to be 2 store pages running perhaps on separate instances, so anything going to the general shop (i.e not a 30 series card) shows most products, whereas On one arrived at by clicking through to 30 series cards shows only those.

Also, on one of the menu's for Products > Graphics Cards, it stops at 20 series, on the other, it includes 30 series. So although under v. similar urls and the same TLD, there seems to completely separate pages. Bit strange but maybe "anti-bot" stuff.

Exactly. If it's close to the 3080 and in stock (with the 3080 still out of stock), then I think it's a done deal. I will miss DLSS and I'm guessing, the 3080's superior RT performance. But... hey ho. Few more weeks to go to find out!
