Also if running with Afterburner settings as per video it runs at 1800mhz solid
Default it is jumping around between 1800 -> 1920Mhz
Temps are around 73oC (3oC hotter)
Power 324W (24W more)
Fan Speed 46% (2% more)
I really dont think its worth underclocking for such low gains in Power/Temp and losing the boosts up to 1920Mhz
Unless I am doing something wrong :)

Yeah I think you are doing something wrong. You should be getting less W not more.

I originally capped the frame rate to 74fps to match my 75hz monitor and I was around 60c in Zombie Army 4 with 225w or thereabouts @ 1920mhz (on 850mv).
If I let it run wild with the fps it was still only maxing at 250w think it was 160fps which is what I would expect and my temps were maxing at 67c.

Not really tried it with my new 144hz monitor but again I capped my framerate to 143fps so will see.

Got my 3080 at 825@1800MHz/-290mv now (originally had 850@1800), seems stable from playing cyberpunk (with ray tracing) and rdr 2 on mostly max settings at 4k/60.

It's mad just how much less power these things used when undervolted without sacrificing the performance.

It begs the question why they are configured the way they are out of the box. Ampere drinks a lot of juice compared to previous generations.

I just applied an undervolt setting of 1800/850 and I'm surprised no-one is talking about changing fan curves. The initial change dropped my temperature from 72C to 60C using my usual 1:1 fan curve. However, what do I really care about the temperature as long as it's within acceptable spec? It makes no difference to me, it's just a number.

I've now tweaked the fan curve to compliment the undervolt and maintain a target temperature as it was before (73C) and now the system is whisper quiet. I'll need to get my power meter plugged in to see if the power saving is significant also.

Here's my fan curve for 1800/850 setting for anyone who may be interested (it's essentially a 20% reduction from a 1:1 curve and the difference in decibels is significant IMO).

I dont understand this undervolting.......

I have it set to 1800 and 850 and depending on game its around 1800 -1940......... I have the power limit at 100% so it cant be that

Whats the point in setting 1800 MHz if every game ignores it and uses whatever?
