I expect the Founder's 3080 to be 2-slot. They are just populating two empty VRAM spots and using a better-binned die.
It should all fit under the 3080's cooler.
You mean the 3080 Ti?

£950 for 3080ti or £650 for 3080, which is better?

£950????
why do people think that 3080ti will be cheaper than 2080ti is beyond me ?
During the biggest silicon shortage known to man?
it will probably be the same MRSP as 2080Ti which is about £1099
Reconvene when they are here. If there are no FE editions you can kiss goodbye to sub £1000 prices.
The way the prices are now, will a 3080ti push up the price of a 3090 even further or they will sandwich it in between the current 3080 and 3090 prices?
If they did do this, I think we might see the price of the 3080 fall a bit, I mean if you were to spend over 1k on a gpu an extra 2-300 would not be a big stretch for you to go for the ti instead.

guess
Think the rumours are that the Ti might be the same chip as the 90, just with 12GB.
If it's true then no need to release it, just make them all 3090's!
The 3080 is already the same chip as the 3090, the GA102. I would imagine that saving 12GB of RAM chips and therefore effectively doubling production more than makes up for the loss of the $400 extra per card.
Same chip, but usually be defective ones they need to cut /segment parts off that make it into a 3080 that could not as a 3090.
Question is, the 3080Ti is it planned to have the same enabled core as the 3090 in which case makes no sense for a 3080Ti in that way as the 3090 flies off the shelf. Or will the 3080Ti be slightly cut down vs the 3090, but not to the extent the 3080Ti is in which case may see a 3080Ti sooner rather then Nvidia having to put the cores into a 3080.
I doubt putting only 12GB on the 3080Ti and using the same core as the 3090 will enable double production. The memory will a factor is not the sole limitation, I doubt they will easily be able to double production of the cores.
