30xx Series Founders Edition

Even cash on collection can be returned when the item is sold online. Although it's far more difficult. So I would only recommend buying GPUs from OcUK etc where you hopefully get a good RMA situation.

For example seller lists a Mined GPU on said site for £1500 as good condition. Sells it for cash on collection. Buyer collects and pays cash but gets home uses it for a day/week and the card stops working properly.

The buyer would be still entitled to a refund. The only thing with cash on collection is that the seller has the money in cash. The buyer can still proceed to get their money back via confronting the seller/ via courts if the seller does not cooperate. But this also depends on what site and what terms were agreed.

For high value items like that I am sure the buyer will most likely pursue the money through small claims if they are sold a dud, assuming they know their rights and can fill in a few forms online.

Thought my 2.0 cable would have been upto 1440 @120fps but seems not.

It's strange though as I had my 1070 running at that resolution fine.

I can only run 1440p @75fps or 4k60

I don't understand why but looks like a new cable. Which is a problem because I need > 7m

We’re talking about selling old GPUs not buying. Hence why I said just chuck it on Facebook, cash on collection.

There is none of the issues you get on the likes of eBay with people returning different duff cards or bricks in boxes to you etc.

You can’t just ‘return’ a cash on collection Facebook sale. There’s no buyer protection at all and they’ll literally have to take you to court. Not that is even relevant if you give them a working items that they inspected before taking it away. Even if the magic blue smoke appears the next day, there is no comeback.

A private sale is sold as seen I unless they can show on balance of probabilities that you misdescribed the item (e.g. the fault was there at the time of sale AND the seller knew about it), they will not win.

This sort of thing happens with used cars all the time. Person buys a car from a private seller, a day later it breaks down. There is no comeback unless they can prove it was misdescribed.

People generally don’t take people to small claims court spuriously because of the risk. Where you don’t have a case and you lose, you have to pay court costs for the other party.

Corsair's ICue soft can control the 3080FE lights, the logo can be dimmed in three steps + off IIRC (mine is dimmed and I have a custom animation on the V).

Yeah, I got mine today, seriously well made piece of kit. I still can't believe I've got one after six months of trying.
Congrats, they are very premium now compared to the ones of old blower type cards. Compared to the price they quality seems very good, shame they skimped on the thermal pads though.

Cheers, yes they do have a very premium feel about them, even the packaging it's premium.
I won't be worrying about thermal pads as it will be getting aquatinted with my EK water block ;)

Finding the 3080FE a little noisy under load, seems to have a target temp of around 73C for me which seems good, but that's low.

Will have to play round with a custom fan curve, don't mind slightly higher temps and less noise.

I noticed the 73c target as well. Ran a bunch of benchmarks and that’s the cap it gets to. However, I can barely hear mine noise wise.. really impressed how quiet it is. My case fans are SilentWings3 so also quiet.

Do an undervolt, you'll knock 10 degrees off your temps and get the same performance in silence.
