30xx Series Founders Edition

This is what I understood by what Nvidia was saying regarding LHR cards and what they will be doing from May 2021, basically all cards will be LHR apart from 3090s. But as you guys are saying I have a feeling 3080FE cards will just not be made anymore and only AIBs will exist which will be LHR and even the 3090s may soon vanish too as they are damaging Nvidias Quadro range to the point they banned AIBs making 3090 blower cards (of course Nvidia did this silently) that are nice to use in servers and workstations with lots of gpus in.

We just need some one to pull off the cooler on some more recent 3080s to see the GPU version number on the FEs and AIBs will for sure have LHR on their box.

Also if 3080FE models get cancelled, we may see Nvidia do a 3080 Super FE that will be LHR and raise the price to what they think it should have cost and use chips that are not good enough for the 3080Ti but better than the 3080 chips to fill that tiny gap again and same for the 3070 FE and make a Super FE LHR. Who knows really the whole generation of gpus this time is a real mess with pricing and performance gaps.

The 3080 Ti to me is the worst highend Ti ever for price and performance increase over the 80 card below it. Normally we would get 25-35% increase, now it's 10% and double the price.

If they took a non LHR card model and quietly changed it to LHR but didn't mark them as such on the box it opens them up to possible litigation.

One again, this is only all AIB. FE model 3080, 3070 & 3060Ti are still being shipped at the moment and are not restricted.

Nvidia have also said LHR cards will be clearly identified.
Our GeForce partners are labeling the GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti cards with a “Lite Hash Rate,” or “LHR,” identifier. The identifier will be in retail product listings and on the box.

Ok say bye bye to the 3080 FE and 3070 FE soon then, well good excuse to shift them FE coolers to the 3080ti and 3070ti now and they will be the FE LHR cards for them going forward. Then the AIBS will be the ones getting hit with the 3080 LHR and 3070 LHR price bumps from Nvidia for the chips and of course passed on to us all.

Yeah, I think it will just be whatever is left in the supply chain now. Would make sense now that the refresh cards have been “launched”.

I don't think they will go completely although I'd expect nvidia to reduce supply of those sku's in favour of more ti models atleast for the 3080 since the ti has a large markup for a minimal increase in production costs.

They will just make 3080 and 3070 super with LHR in FE form and remove the previous ones I think, refresh the products and use up chips too good for 3080 and 3070 but not good enough for the Ti versions.

I doubt we'll see super cards now especially as that's essentially what the ti cards are, besides it would look even more ridiculous than it is now with 4 sku's within 10% performance of one another.

If anything nvidia needs to release a 3050/ti for the everyday folk who don't want to spend a fortune on a card.

We will just have to wait and see, Nvidia has done it before with Supers and Ti's, nothing surprises me with them anymore. Also the demand is there and most people just want a card at a certain performance level as we have seen with the 3080Ti a silly card but sold out in seconds again.

They drop in waves, someone shared a spreadsheet tracking the drops of them all. You need to join discord for a couple of channels and telegram. Twitter can also help if you put them on your phone one of them will alert you just have to be able to buy within a minute otherwise your pipped to the post.

Not so bad since they changed one per account, lots of people get to pay and it declines their payment - this in turn puts stock back in play so sometimes when they are out of stock 10 mins later they are back in stock I have heard.

Thanks, do you have a link to this spreadsheet please? Would be pretty useful to look at. I've scrolled back about 20 pages but i can't seem to find it...

So, my 3090 FE that I snatched in the Thursday huge stock drop day is arriving today!

Quite perplexed why - not had DPD delivery on a Sunday ever before now, though not complaining!

I hate DPD, they suck over here. When I read your mainland stories it reminds me of what can only be..

Delivered :)

Thought the 3090 would be larger than my MSI 3080! Looks so much nicer though, much quieter too in my case (enthoo evolv x)
