30xx Series Founders Edition

After seeing how expe sive the 3080 ti are I've decided to settle for a 3080. I know they're hard to get but what I have no idea is what sort of price should I try to secure one for? I have no idea on their pricing. Seems you can't get them near msrp? I'm been using my 1080 ti for almost 4 years now. It's time.

Are these still possible to secure? Anywhere I can pay and join a queue for one?

They drop in waves, someone shared a spreadsheet tracking the drops of them all. You need to join discord for a couple of channels and telegram. Twitter can also help if you put them on your phone one of them will alert you just have to be able to buy within a minute otherwise your pipped to the post.

Not so bad since they changed one per account, lots of people get to pay and it declines their payment - this in turn puts stock back in play so sometimes when they are out of stock 10 mins later they are back in stock I have heard.

Other people notice the massive reduction in £ offered by exchange place for a 3080FE when the Ti launched? Down to 800 something, though still selling for 1800.

Yep, it went down on Thursday. I locked in my drop off order on Wednesday night for £1102 as I suspected that may happen. Got the 3080ti FE for £1049 on Thursday, so dropped my 3080 (bought it back in October) off at the exchange place and they honoured the price. Free upgrade and quids in.

They are probably anticipating a drop in selling price and don't want to get stuck holding the bag.

Well played sir. I considered the same but didn't get a sniff of a Ti

Nvidia have stated that they are not limiting the older existing FE models. Only AIB be limited and will be identified as LHR on the retail box.

However, all 3080 Ti (including FE), will be LHR.

Nvidia is not labeling their cards (FE models) LHR even if they have it.

All 3000 series cards FE or AIB (apart from 3090) are getting LHR from last month the 3080 and other 3000 series that were not LHR were being converted to LHR, so a very good chance now 3080s are LHR stock now or getting very close to being an LHR version as old stock drys up.

Nvidia will not mess with anyones none LHR model that was purchased before the new converted models, but going forward all 3000 series FE or AIB will be LHR apart from the 3090.

Strange that tech news sites are quoting Nvidia as saying otherwise.
”Founders Edition is a limited production graphics card sold at MSRP," Nvidia told us this afternoon, "and at this point we don’t have plans to make versions with LHR."
Some think this means the older FE cards will soon be discontinued.

It's a lot more isn't it? I decided to go exactly the same way

Surely then they would have to be advertised as such, the 3080ti and 3070ti doesn't need to be as there was never a non LHR version.
