30xx Series Founders Edition

@Rroff cant you just lock the GPU clock at 1000mhz or something to stop it bouncing around and the fans spinning up?.

Probably could but it would mean a lot of messing about between games, etc.

EDIT: Also some of these games are still quite taxing on the GPU despite the age and that would bring performance down even more.

Think I've worked out why my FE is spinning up the fans intermittently with some older games - seems related to how the UI is rendered in some older games which is causing bursts of the GPU producing a lot of frames quickly even though the overall frame rate might not be overly high. If I just leave the game idle is doesn't really do it but if I'm rapidly doing stuff during gameplay dipping in and out of UI elements after awhile it will either spin up the fans periodically or for longer periods.

Not sure why my older GPUs don't do the same.
I found something similar on my 3080 FE when Vsync was set to Fast. This was not a problem previously with the 1080 Ti.
I had to switch to Vsync On to fix it. I do also have Gsync enabled. I get the feeling these options are behaving differently on the new cards.

Oh btw, people complaining about the vrms / back of the FE cards getting too hot, get an Arctic F8 Pro or two and stand them on the back plate of the card, assuming its mounted normally.

Those fans are one way and rubbery on the mounting side so can stand on stuff - I already use two of them sat on their side above my 1080 Ti.

Or look up cabinet / console / laptop fans that likewise stand on rubber grommets to plonk on top of a console case and put one of those on the back of the card.

I currently have them flipped blowing down onto the heatsink fins*, you can try that or stand them on the backplate.

*RTX 3000 series card not pictured or obtained yet, that's my 1080 Ti, and the 80mm fans are leftover from an old case.

AMD is hiding behind Brexit rubbish so they don't have to sell at MSRP their cpus and gpus.. you know the white knights to save us all from Intel and Nvidia as many thought would happen on here ...

AMD have been the worst out of them all this generation of cpus and gpus.
Yeah I'm somewhat surprised and very disappointed that AMD still won't sell to the UK.

How long can this situation last? All year? Multiple years? Will AMD just ignore the UK market completely and not give a damn?

One retailer sells FE. They drop every week or two. Its first come first served and they're gone in minutes or seconds if it's the 3080.
I know who you mean, but they're not even listed in their graphics card section, so how do people know when they're restocked?

Is there a way to configure the alerts to only go off when it's a 3080/70 UK stock?
If you're going for an FE I'd actually recommend keeping all the alerts on for cards you don't want as well. From what I saw the cards often drop around the same time. If an alert for a card you don't want comes through first then you can be ready and waiting for a potential drop of a card you do want. That's how I got my 3080FE a couple of weeks ago when the 3070/3090 alerts came through first.

Ok, but can I at least make it so it's UK only? If so how?
