30xx Series Founders Edition

In NVIDIA Control Panel, do you have Power Management Mode set to "Normal" or "Prefer maximum performance"? Prefer maximum performance will increase and hold high clock speeds therefore idle temps will be higher. I believe the fans only switch off if the card's core temp is under 60 degrees.
It was set to prefer maximum performance but changed it to normal now. Will update the fan curve later when I get chance after work.

Why not ship to Ireland? Is it not part of the UK?

I assume you are asking this because your not from Europe.

The Republic of Ireland (otherwise known as ‘Ireland’) is a separate country and a member state of the EU.

The U.K. is made up by England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and isn’t a member state of the EU.

I've had the picture of the 3080 at mates house, he's coming round at 7 tonight, so will give me an hour after work to stick the 3060Ti into his machine and then clean the dust out of mine ready for the 3080 to go in, then off to LeMans tomorrow so no time to play with it...

Yah, as I'm from England always didn't understand why there were issues shipping to the Ireland as I understand it now, there are issues shipping to the other Ireland because it's not in UK. That's ok with BREXIT and all.

Managed to get a 3070 FE from the drop the other day and I wanted to send it to my younger cousin who lives in the US, does anyone know the best way to go about sending it? I think customs may end up being super expensive due to the value of the item.

Could your younger cousin, not have purchased it directly from them?

Yeah but stock disappears in the US quicker than it does here in the UK, figured if I ever come across it I may as well purchase for him and then send it over. Just didn't realise the insane shipping fees that'd come with it.

Just post it, just make sure it’s insured!

They’ll have to pay import tax and duty at the boarder plus any handling fees from the courier. There should be a calculator online to tell you how much. The duty will be loads because the US has a massive 20% or 30% import tariff on graphics cards at the moment.

You’d probably have to value it as inclusive of VAT too because you’d need it for insurance and you can’t reclaim the VAT you paid here either.

Will need to check but just read this :
"the minimum threshold for import tax is $800. Goods valued below that are not subject to duty."

So if the card is less than 800 dollars then may not need to pay customs taxes.

Where the PSU in the above build?

Got mine too. Wasn't ready for the weight of it compared to my 1070!

I had a kerfuffle with the power connectors. My PSU has 6+2 connectors and one was different to the other and was difficult to connect. It felt wrong but managed to force it in a little after making absolutely sure it was a PCI-E cable and it slid in normally (despite it being printed on it!). Closed my eyes when I hit the power button but alls OK.

Still running on Skylake for now and my GPU slot is incorrectly running at 8x (did it with my 1070 too. It's in the right slot, nothing else in the other PCI slots... all BIOS settings check out, gonna try re-seat the CPU seeing as it's been in and out the car a few times.)

The case is dual compartment, so the psu is in the second compartment behind the motherboard. There's space there for all the cables and harddrives. This second compartment has two intake fans too to keep things cool

Installed the 3080 FE the coil whine is annoying hope it improves I aint played with Under volting yet but feel it shouldnt be this annoying at stock the changes pitch as the FPS changes :(
