The price is OK but doesnt warrant an upgrade over the 3090, may as well wait for the 4000 series.
I suspect how the market has been of late that MSRP of the compatible cards will be higher than they have been this time round, people have spent the last 2 years proving just how desperate they are and how much they are willing to pay, to the point it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if stock was purposefully held back to keep demand high..
One of the main reasons people were willing to pay so much is that they could recover some of the cost through mining. Prices are tumbling right now and it won't be long until we're at or below MSRP. In October energy prices will go up again which will make it even more difficult to make a profit mining. There's no doubt that the MSRP for each card will still be above the previous gen, but a 4080 should easily beat a 3090 Ti.I suspect how the market has been of late that MSRP of the compatible cards will be higher than they have been this time round, people have spent the last 2 years proving just how desperate they are and how much they are willing to pay, to the point it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if stock was purposefully held back to keep demand high..
I asked this with the 3090... Is there a use case for the 3090ti? As in a scenario where actually it is a much better card than the 3090 which people will see a tangible benefit in?
So anybody crazy enough to buy the 3090Ti FE at £1879.
Makes the 3090 FE look really cheap at £1399 now.
