31.5" 2560x1440 165 Hz VA G-Sync - LG 32GK850G

Tbf they're new to the (decent end of the) gaming scene, but they're VERY slow! Hopefully they learn from this :)

Guys in Netherlands got their review samples in early December. Idk whats with the 4 month delay here in UK.
Usually companies send their products for reviews BEFORE launch to build up the hype and boost sales.

Yes, I'm sure Daniel is doing his best. I think we should be grateful to have a rep on here that shares what info he can.

You'll have to remember the quality control of the 32GK850G is ridiculously good in BLB/uniformity, on par with TV's. Maybe there's lots of discarded units and it takes time to build up stocks for new markets.

Better still to wait 6 months, than waste 6 months spinning the panel lottery, and then give up on the monitor completely to keep your sanity.

I've been following this thread since January. Thanks to all who have contributed to the discussion. Like many others I've been waiting to see the review from TFTCentral before pulling the trigger on this or something else.

@Daniel - LG I appreciate that your guys in the sample/marketing department are very thorough in their deliberations but it seems they are taking a really looong time to arrive at a decision. Given that TFTCentral will eventually receive approval would it not be possible for you to arrange for OCUK to drop off a unit to TFTCentral as an interim measure?

If it's a good monitor and "Recommended" by Baddass I'd happily take it off his hands when he's finished the review, and would pay OCUK for the privilege. Win/win all round.;)

Probably hand picking one that has the least bleed and least severe IPS glow for reviewers ;)

It's a VA panel so obviously no IPS glow. VA glow is 10 times less annoying than IPS glow. Also, Dutch reviewers got some pre release samples that were scratched and "used" all over and they had to request another one so they could confirm their measurements. Knowing this I doubt LG will cherry pick anything. They wouldn't even be sending anything for review if we hadn't asked for it after all. LG is pretty bad in marketing in general. Look on their latest phone, the V30. Took them half a year after launch to get DXO Mark to review the phone. Now let's see Samsung - S9 was reviewed before launch..

IPS glow vs VA black crushing, not sure which is worse. Hopefully this VA panel is decent.

Got one of these yesterday and must say I'm very impressed. No dead pixels or other defects and it's really nice to have the blacks back!!

If you get one of these and don't wish to fart about too much then set the colour profile to Medium and the Gamma Mode to 3 and put 60-65% setting into Digital Vibrance and it's pretty much bob on imo! Adjust Brightness and Contrast to suit :)
