31.5" 2560x1440 165 Hz VA G-Sync - LG 32GK850G

Got one of these yesterday and must say I'm very impressed. No dead pixels or other defects and it's really nice to have the blacks back!!

If you get one of these and don't wish to fart about too much then set the colour profile to Medium and the Gamma Mode to 3 and put 60-65% setting into Digital Vibrance and it's pretty much bob on imo! Adjust Brightness and Contrast to suit :)

I'm still waiting for those reviews from tftcentral/pcmonitors before I order but first we need LG to send those review samples out to them...

In my mind, there is one guy tasked with finding a perfect panel to send to reviewers. He stands at the end of the conveyor and manually tests each and every single one for uniformity, BLB, and dead pixels, sending all the rejects to be boxed and shipped to retailers.

Good luck my dude, hope you find the good one soon.

Hardware.info - Netherlands based reviewer received their review sample in December, 3 months ahead of EU launch. The sample they received has been damaged on the actual panel (coating was scratched) and it had very light spot in the upper (left IRRC) corner which was affecting the brightness uniformity test a lot. They had to get their sample replaced by LG and redo the tests. So nobody was cherry picking the panel for them and in the end it didn't affect the result either. Our LG rep here can just grab any panel he has on hand and send it for reviews. No extensive testing or cherry picking is needed. Issues like dead pixel/dust particles is just random and can always occur on any monitor.

So they got their hands on two units, and no one in the UK has got hold of one for review...

I am on the verge of entering my debit card details for this screen but before I do, can you confirm whether there is any blurryness on fonts etc? Might wait for TFTC review.

I was also concerned with this and did some research before getting it. I can confirm that it's much better than normal VA screens (Samsung are bad for this) but maybe the lack of AG coating is helping it. Compared to my PG348Q it is a little softer on text but not enough to put me off recommending it.

Hope this helps, but to be 100% then def wait for a review. I'm more than happy with it, and I usually hate the text reproduction of VA screens.

Any chance you could add a high res photo of the screen showing some desktop text such as a web page and a text document of some description? It would help me decide for sure. Thanks.

Think my main worry with this is it might be a bit too big, sitting in a normal desktop position? I kinda thought 27 inch was the sweet spot size wise...

This is why I am torn between the LG 32" or Asus, Acer 27" IPS. I could really do with a new IPS/VA monitor 27" and G-SYNC without the lottery that normally comes with IPS panels.
I've been trying to decide on a screen for 6mths now, at this rate I'll probably be selling my 1080ti and Ryzen build before I get one!

It's so frustrating isnt it. The amount of energy ive spent angsting over monitors. I previously hadthe Acer 27' before, but after it randomly broke and god awful customer support from Acer, I refuse to touch them with a barge pole again.

34" UW... same height as 27" and immersion like a 32". I was originally set on getting a standard WS monitor, but couldn't decide between 27 and 32"... this thinking now has me focused on 34" UW, and I'm waiting for the new LG 34GK950G.

Overall impressions guys? I’m thinking of grabbing one from OCUK (currently £689) and selling my 27” acer.

27” still feels a tad too small and a bit worried 32” might feel a tad too big. But it has all the specs I want to keep me going for another year or two.

one thing I was slightly worried about was that the 1440 res blown up on 32 inch means the PPI ends up somewhere closer to a 24 inch at 1080 I think? (according to Lims Cave).
