330 (ci) tuning?

There's a fellah by the name of Wayne Schofield who maps all the Porsche cup cars. He's very well known in VW circles, but he is also one of the most respected tuners in the UK - just do a search on Google. He did my VR6 and got a 20bhp/22lb-ft increase, with plots to prove.

http://www.chipwizards.co.uk/ If you give him a ring he's a totally sound fellah who won't bull**** you. Mine was £250+VAT about three years ago. :)

My personal opinion is that peak power is little different after the remap - it's just extended some torque to 6800rpm and it "feels" like it's upped it lower down in the rev range as well. I'll suppose we'll see at the RR day, but I'll warn in advance I think mine could do with some new plugs :p

I just put some crazy figures in my sig COS I CAN! :D

I think he lives in Rochdale, but his place is in Manchester. It's definitely worth just giving him a bell for a chat to see what he reckons. :)

 Small world!

Does he tune all cars?

I changed the size of the text for you so it fits on one line too ;)
It only doesn't fit on one line for those who have web browsers that don't render properly - i.e. not Internet Explorer. It's always looked perfect to me :p

Simon from e-maps is widely known on BMWland for his fantastic customer service. I've spoken to him about remapping my car - very friendly guy, and does a lot of 330i/330ds.

It isn't just a standard map either - you can tell him what you want and he'll do it.

There are various comparisons with him and DMS on BMWland, and all seem to suggest that they give the same performance benefits. DMS is also a lot more expensive. Another bonus with Simon is that he will change your map/remove it for free if you go to his office (which is handy for you as he's based in Birminghim IIRC). He's also meant to be very good at diagnosing and helping you rectify any problems with your car.

I'm booking mine in for February next year when I change insurers.

You'd never guess he's an ex Honda owner :p

Hi there

Honda's cost a fortune to extra more power from. Mainly because Honda did such a good job in the first place and secondly because they are small N/A engines which is always harder work.

With the Prelude I did CAI, DE-CAT, Full exhaust and probably only got approx 10BHP from spending over £1000.

The S2000 was worse, spending approx £1000 on that got me probably not even 5BHP as I did the CAI and exhaust on that too. However the noise was well worth it.

However its not always peak power as both cars showed great mid-range improvement. :)

Though it was a different story with the 3000GT, CAI, Downpipe, DE-CAT and exhaust was worth approx 30BHP. Again that costed similar amount. Then if I'd have played with the boost I could have no doubt got another 20-30BHP for a furth £300. Then upto another 50BHP if I'd have uprated the injectors and fuel pump etc. costing around £600.

Turbo cars very tunable, but I cannot complain about the Mustang, about £5000 spend on performance mods and an improvement of approx 200BHP and approx 150Lb-Ft so don't think I can really complain about that. :)

Well that's Plan A down the pan with PMK not running. :(

I'll talk to E-maps next week, might have to take a chance.
