360 Update Today

Anyone else get disconnected from XBL when the go to account management or is it just me?? Well annoying!!! Also started geting some freezy bits on GOW! So far not impressed!!! :p

I set mine to expanded on my 22" monitor and it does indeed drastically improve the picture quality.

I have the resolution set to 1280x1024 and mode set to widescreen. Should I be getting black border on the top and bottom of my screen?

liking the update so far, and combined with vista, hopefully can get it pumping out some hd material :D does the msn thing sign in automatically? if so is there anyway to unlink it from your account. as i dont want to be signing in all the time, just put in my password to see what it looked like.

What resolution are you running at?

The reason I originally asked this was that any circle shaped objects on the screen seem stretched vertically and was wondering if this was normal for a 16:10 widescreen.

Yeah same here, not really that keen considering I can have my laptop next to me all the time.

turn of the auto sign in, in your gamer settings

To disable auto sign in, click your Gamercard and then go to auto sign in, and disable the Windows Live Messenger part of it ;)

If you have a widescreen display, you should be running a widescreen resolution, 1280x720 or 1360x768.

I don't think that is true, the highest pixel count would surely be better. That way the 360 will do the majority of scaling. Setting to 1280x1024 is the highest resolution that a 22" widescreen will support (strange that bloodwolf's 19" supports it ???aren't 19" 1440x900?). By setting it to widescreen mode it kind of anomorphicises(sp?) it.

I think I've come to the conclusion that no matter what settings are chosen, the 360 is designed for a 16:9 display and all 16:10 displays will give a stretched image.

On my TV there is no need for sharpness adjustment with 1:1 mapping.

On my Sammy R74 it just looks too blurry, not to sure what this 1:1 pixel mapping is but it just looks blurry.

Just puts me off.

Ill give it another go on VGA.
