3600 cl14 bargain

Sadly IF of 1900 is just unstable no matter what I do. Sticking to 3600 / 1800 with tight memory timings.
I have actually tried the in between multipliers but they never seem to stick.

Tempted by the 4000Mhz kit as part of a 3800X build. Would love to get 3800Mhz at CAS 16!

I really wouldn't worry too much about getting 3800mhz and FCLCK 1900, my cinebench 20 scores were barely any different, but game fps dropped.

Its normal on Zen 2 CPUs with 1 CCD (chiplet) which is basically every chip from the 3800X and below. I think its hardware limited by the CCD.

Aaah okay, that makes sense, was thinking it didn't look right!
Similar results to mine, only my write speeds match read, but that will be the 2 CCDs.

Yeah, since you have the 3900X you will see something along the 57k mark.

No idea, but rdr2 built in bench dropped 8fps compared to 3600mhz cl14 (vs 3800mhz cl16).

May have been the case, I didn't do any memtest64 etc, just some CB20 runs, aida64 and gaming (gta, rdr2, pube g and civ).

Yeah it's a bit of an odd one, GTA and civ is the same with fps dropping a decent chunk. Can't tell with pube g, as it runs pretty high fps, but subjectively feels slower, but I think that could well be me lol.

As for fixing it, not sure I'll bother, is it worth it you think? I might pump up 0.1v increases and see if it's power related.

3800mhz 14-15-8-13-1T GDM off between 1.45v and 1.5v is ballpark with the 4400mhz kit. Reduce to 15-16-8-14 for 1.35v, but considering XMP profile 2 sets 1.45v anyway I don't see the point, just drive them like you stole them. @roadie the 4000mhz kit will do 3800mhz C16 without much effort imo. The 4400 C19 kit seems a slightly higher bin than the 3200 C14 sticks but lower than 3600 C15. Would love to try the 8 Pack 4500 C18 kit but at that price I cant justify it just for curiosity's sake.

I've noticed Patriot do another 4000Mhz kit, but it has worse timings than the Viper Steel. I wonder what chips that uses? Or if it's a lower bin?

Been trying to get 1800 IF all day. Finally I think I've sorted it and am stress testing at 1.1 1800/3600.

This is while using the default patriot xmp timings. I'll get to them as soon as I get this stable. I really want 1800 IF because I don't want to run these b-dies at 3400 or lower.

Patriot Viper Steel 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-35200C19 4400MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVS416G440C9K)

I can't get 1T out of these at 3600. Large FFTs in prime95 starts failing as soon as I start it. If anyone could help me I'd very much appriete it because I'm at my wits end. Image below is of my settings. I've changed the primary timings myself, everything else is auto. 1.45v ram. Tried 1.5v, same thing. 1T just will not work. Probably going to have to send them back and get some 8pack 3600.

Just get the 3200 if you're getting 8 pack ram, it's the same kit as the 3600 and really you'd be better skiing all the sub timings manually for better performance.
