From what I saw up to 3200MhzDo these come in 16gb module sizes at 4000mhz.
Thanks, that’s a shame. I’ll stick with my Vengeance kits for now. From what I saw up to 3200Mhz
On the last screenshot I was using normal BCLK, you can see that the speed is 3800Mhz and not 3838Mhz. I mentioned C14 because many people say they accomplished 3800Mhz C14 or C15 but they get much lower scores which means its not stable and the memory has to do "error correction" which reduces performance.Well for starters Nghtmare has found the secret to getting latency below 61ns.
Sub timing adjustments I believe he hinted at in the past.
It may also be because he can run Bclk higher than 100 he must have drives that tolerate it because when i tried it screwed my win install big time.
Nghtmare you mentioned 3800 Mhz at C14 but posted a C16 result was that intentional ?
Or do I take it that C14 is a no go?
I know I cant find the secret to a C14 run on either 8 pack or Viper memory.
Even with my 3800 settings it is not 100% stable as I may get a game crash once a night which is too many.
So I picked up a set of the 4000 vipersteel ddr4 a few days ago to go with my ryzen 3600 is it OK to just run it at 3600mhz with the c14 msi try it settings in the bios?
Obviously I'll be running memtest to make sure it's stable.
Is there any real effect to just sticking to the msi test it settings (obviously it makes things easy) rather than using a dram calculator which I haven't done before. I'd like it as easy as possible to do. I just game on my pc mainly.
Will do. thanks for the helpShould be fine, just make sure you give them enough voltage as they may need 1.45
If its just gaming you want, then 2 sticks of 8GB would be your best bet for high speed dual channel. You can get 2 sticks of 16GB from Viper very cheap, but they are rated 3200Mhz and are not BDie.Hi all about to pull the trigger on a gigabyte x570 master and a 3900x but i am not to sure what memory to go for as i am looking at 3600MHz c14 or 3600MHz at c16 or should i be looking at 3733MHz c16 or c14 ? I am not to sure what memory to get and what brands. I would like to get the most out of the cpu and not cripple it at all so could anyone recommend some memory for this system ? I was also looking at the gskill neo and the viper
also what is better 2 sticks of ram or 4 sticks as i am not to sure as i wanted 32gb but not sure if i can afford that right away
oh i have a be rock 4 pro cooler to go on top to
thanks for any help
There is 2 type of memory layouts when it comes to a motherboard PCB. One is called T-Topology and the other one Daisy Chain. Most gaming motherboards come with Daisy Chain which works better with 2 sticks, and that translates to higher overclocking potential. AM4 does not support quad channel memory so having 4 sticks vs 2 wont give you more bandwidth. So if you want 32GB for example, you might be better off getting 2x16GB sticks instead of 4x8GB. If you are going to be gaming only, 16GB is enough.@Nightmare, thanks
why is it that a lot of prople never seem to use 4 slots and always best to use 2 slots when a motherboard has 4 slots ? i dont understand this
Pick the 2nd one which matches what the box says. If you try ti run it tighter than the advertised rating it might not boot.Dont know if anyone can help me, I've got 4x8GB 32GB ram, but trying to manually set timings which on description of product it is 3200MHz RAM Speed, CAS 16-18-18-36 Timings, 1.25-1.35v.
On my bios I've only got 14-14-14-14-34 and 16-18-18-18-1+36 DDR4 3200. Which one do I pick im a noob
