hardware unboxed found the exact same thing
they used a 3950x and 9900ks, used very fast ram with very tight timing on both and benchmark led them on a wide range of games.
And IIRC, the 5ghz 9900KS came out just 3% faster at 1080p.
makes me think, with no ipc improvement ryzen 4000 is going to wipe the floor with gaming performance with its rumoured 17% IPC gain. We'll see all except the most delusional Intel fanboys swap over to the winning team
