3d Mark 06 scores thread

Memory speed don't seem to matter!

Best I can get:- 3D06 = 4444
2024
1974
1092

SD 3700 @ 250*11 & 1.5v (CPUZ says 2750 & 1.52v)
Ballistix @ 250 & 2.8v (3,3,3,6,1T)
XFX 7800GTX @ 520/1.33

Another run gave:- 3D06 = 4452

I couldn't get any more from CPU or GFX but got Ballistix to 275 @ 2.9v but without any improvement in score?

So:- SD 3700 @ 275*10 & 1.55v (CPUZ says 2750 & 1.568v)
Ballistix @ 275 & 2.9v (3,3,3,6,1T)
XFX 7800GTX @ 520/1.33

Gives:- 3D06 = 4448

I was dissapointed that this memory speed increase gave no improvement in score but I'm not too upset at the results at my stock, stable o/c's! (I usually run gfx a bit lower so's not to over stress the card as it works fine in games)

ive got 2 lots of results on the same rig, but using different cpu's

result1, single core:
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) default timings/166 divider
BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC at 490 core/1300 ram
Opteron 148 at 2969
DFI SLI-D

4366 3DMarks
SM2 1936
SM3 1888
CPU 1171

Click for screenie

result2, dual core:
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) default timings/166 divider
BFG GeForce 7800 GTX OC at 490 core/1300 ram
Opteron 165 at 2743
DFI SLI-D

4738 3DMarks
SM2 1928
SM3 1877
CPU 1853

click for screenie

my gfx cards a let down, the core won't go passed 490 & the ram won't clock at all, which is dissapointing.

Better late than never...

A64 4000+ @ 2.64 Ghz
2 GB Corsair Value Select PC3200 ram @ 220Mhz (default timings)
2 x Geforce 6800Ultra's SLi

4629 3DMarks
SM2 2309
HDR/SM3 1979
CPU 1044

I was very happy with my rig but after reading these scores I'm thinking of switching to dual core now.

You've got a seriously nice rig so I wouldn't switch unless you'll really benefit from dual core - it's not worth it for a higher 3D Mark score! :)

One or two games do benefit, namely Quake IV and COD2. If you heavily multi-task or use multi-threaded apps you'll see a benefit too

It'll be rather expensive to get one that is clocked as high as your A64. You're best bet would probably be to get an Opteron 170 (as it has the 1MB cache) and clock it to 2.6/2.7Ghz

My first attempt at OC the FX-55 has given a healthy increase:
3D Mark Score = 5620
SM2 = 2872
SM3 = 2761
CPU = 1049

FX-55 @ 2728mhz
7800GT x 2 SLi both @ stock
2Gb Ballistix

New ram tweaked and cpu clocking better than ever....

Opteron 144 @ 2865mhz
2gb Gskill @ 238mhz 2.5-3-3-8
X1900XT @ 670/775

Not bad at all for single core.
