3d Mark 06 scores thread

Nice one Tom, been waiting for a table update in ages, posted my score of 4425 a while back (with screenshot), on my system in my sig, which still aint been added to the table... ;)

Just to help you out Tom, my post was on page 19 (post 542)... Really hope you are able to do an updated table, as my score of 4425 is pretty quick for a single core cpu and non SLi setup... ;)

OK Tom, how is it overpowered for the screen? other than resolution.

But even then that depends on how you look at it.

this is kind of what I was asking.. you need more oompf the more pixels you have to fill/render etc so the lower res screen you have the lower your requirement.

Screens are pretty much always...

15" 1024x768
17/19" 1280x1024
20 1600x1200 etc..

so you're gaming with one of the more power pcs around with the equivalent of the cheapest tft in pixel terms.. just cos its 32", that just means it has bigger pixels like the difference between 17 and 19.

I would expect that even with all the options on full in the most demanding game you're probably using about 20 or 30% of your gfx power. Your setup could handle the 30" dell which is why its disappointing it isn't.

And you really don't take any sort of comment well at all, you have to remember people talk for ages on here about bang for buck and balanced systems, browse the gfx card forum, its all people saying "whats best for this res" etc... and you're totally unbalanced, its not a criticism, its a fact!

what about everyone else???

Just looking up this page there's ryanism with a 7k score that you've missed..

what you actually mean is "here you go, look I'm first" dude you've thrown a bucket of money at a pc and its fast.. well done but you're getting really tedious. This is a community, not a bragging patch!

At the very least do some overclocking.. it is sort of the name of the site.

Why would a game use only 30% of the GFX power simply because its at a lower resolution? thats ridiculous.

Can someone please explain this a bit better or grab some tomshardware benchies???

Its would only use 30% because by that time it would have done everything it needed to do to render and draw all the pixels because there's only 786432 of them when you're gaming as opposed to the 2304000 there you are with a 24" dell (which costs less than your tv) thats 3 times as many.. so.. roughly 30% and that would only be if THAT maxed out your cards and I doubt even that would.. maybe the 2500x1600 30" with its 4 MILLION pixels might just do it.

Your cards don't just keep working for no reason.. they draw it, its done.. there's an upper fps limit whereby its pointless to carry on drawing.

And the extra lol is if you play doom3/quake 4 etc they're limited to 60fps no matter what system you have.

I was gonna put your score on too Townlea but then I thought it was a single core?

Did I say I had a dual core? I said "other dual core users" Your becoming to argue everyone's point and willy wave the whole thread... please for everyones sake stop because this thread could get locked.. That would be a big shame :(

EDIT:

Interesting pics marv (dedicated I see)
Love the cheapo KB/Mouse combo beside what looks to be an odd form of cooling.

These are the ppl with money to literally burn.

OC'ing never really tickled my tastebuds as I found it was only really usefull for benchmarking which is ridiculous in itself..
Is it because Im black? :p :p
