That's a really good score for an AGP card and also a surprisingly high score on that CPU.

EDIT: In fact that's almost exactly the same score that I used to get with my 7800gt (using my current processor)....just goes to show how good those 7800gs 512s are.

Hey thanks, don't really know much about the '06 Benchmark. My Target is 4.5K or atleast 4.3K, somehow I shall manage it :P

Xtreme-G Drivers, 84.37.
Was using 84.25 v2's in the last '06 test.

Pretty good score tbh.

7800gtx sli

hi, i just registered on this forum and never been on forum before, i have recently completed my rig, x2 7800gtx(256) running sli, with 4 gig consair,4800+amd, running on dell 2405, question is about these profiles in the nvidia display screen, had been told that you have to select them to enable sli, i think this is simply not true, as ive just got ghost recon advanced warfighter which there is no profile for as yet, i just set it up with global settings along with the tweaks you have to do to get it running right in render settings folder and it works well with sligetting on average 60-70fps in 1600x1200, had turned off sli and was getting half that, so it shows sli does indeed work without any profile, am using 84.25 x64bit drivers. also get 170+ fps in fear in most parts never dropping below 85fps in battle. what i have noticed tho is that as long as you have top processor and good memory, 1 top end card seems to be enough really, some games there are a lot of differences in but others there is not.

Welcome to the forums.

You're quite right that in a lot of cases an extra graphics card makes little difference to final performance, and this can be down to principally 3 reasons. The first two though are like opposite sides of the same coin. For some games, SLi and indeed crossfire doesn't have much impact because the game and/or the latest drivers are not well optimised to exploit dual card in that game. This is normally fixed with a patch or a driver update and fewer and fewer new games are being released that aren't catered for already. The third reason is that the CPU can bottleneck a top end graphics card. Take Oblivion for example, even with an FX60 there are parts of the game that see almost no boost by adding an extra card (particularly parts that are heavy on physics and AI). There are other parts however that get almost twice the frames.

Anyway, out of interest what 3dmarks are you getting with that rather handsome set up?

*Completly ignoring the previous posts* :p

3Dmark06 score - 5732

System
AMD 4200 X2 @ stock
ATi X1900 Master Card 512MB @ stock
Asus A8R-MVP motherboard
1GB Crucial DDR2700 RAM
700W Epsilon PSU

I think thats all the important components....

Nightmare, you've got some serious heavy weight components there, but your RAM seems oddly out of place. Getting a 2 gig kit won't boost your 3dmark score much but it'll certainly help with a number of games.

Good score by the way. You should think about clocking that CPU a bit though.....at least once you've got some more ram.

Omg my score is plop. My cpu is a 3200+ and the rest of my stuff is in my sig. :(
