3d Mark 06 scores thread

I'm wondering if the CPU tests are really hard because they're leaving headroom for the upcoming (hopefully) PhysX processors or other PPUs...
Dunno, but it makes me wonder if gettin a 3800+ will make that much difference to my system.

Im gettin far below average performance in games and i've ruled out/replaced everything but my cpu and surprisingly the old prescott wasnt too far behind some of AMD's offerings.

What makes you think you are getting far below average in games?

Have you tried 3DMark '01? It's a great indicator of general games performance.

Yeah, tried that yesterday actually and got something like 21,000. I have no idea what i should be getting with that cause its the first time i've used it.

But its games like CS: Source and Live For Speed, which my system SHOULD laugh at, that are giving me problems.

Im struggling to keep the FPS above 60fps in CS:S, i can get around 140 when im running around alone, but throw 10 or so people in there and it'll drop like a stone. Same deal with LFS, i can get over 100fps driving alone, but put 4 cars infront of me and it'll soon drop to 40fps. :(

Hi there

Just done some further testing........

X2 4800 at 2.4GHz (Not overclocked)
Asus A8R-MVP
2 x X1800 XT in Crossfire Mode

Score 7005 in 3D Mark 2006 and 13100 in 3D Mark 2005 so Crossfire is performing well and matching SLi performance. :)

not too bad....

hmm.... looking at others results, I am getting suspicious that my SLi is not performing in '06

based on having 2 XFX 7800GTX Extreme XXX cards in SLi, with 2GB mem and an FX-57 @ 3GHz, does 4322 sound like a low score?

what, other than turning on the SLi settings in the drivers do I need to do? Or is it the single core that's just letting it down.

I get 13K in '05 and 30K in '03

/confused

New drivers mate... or at least reinstall. I had this exact same problem, and a fresh install fixed it up good and proper.

The single core will drop you slightly, but you should get about 6500

cool, ok. I've got the latest in there, installed when they came out, so I'll remove completely and reinstall and go from there :D

hopefully I'll be posting better results later, if not, I'll be crying like a baby
