I think I am going to bench this on my mighty HD 5970s to liven things up.

I'm considering ordering the Morpheus cooler for my 290X tomorrow, the long term plan is to get another 290X and put them both uderwater, but i've only recently started my new job so it's going to have to wait a month or two before that happens.

Morpheus or Peter2 guys? does the Peter2 come with better Vram sinks?

By the looks of it, yes. You'll still have to glue the big VRM sink on for best results though.

I'd also look at 92mm fans and cable ties rather than 120/140mm fans.

Not really Wazza, for some reason i was under the impression that the other two mentioned where much better..

best thing is it comes with everything,fans/glue/heatsinks upto you though

I personally would. The glue should come with it.

The Accelero is just as good, if not a tiny bit better on the core, but VRM cooling isn't as good. It will take up a lot less vertical space and be very quiet though.
Btw, The 92mm fan option I recommended will run louder than 120's and the Accelero, but obviously not as loud as a ref cooler.

im on a 7970,it improved my core overclock and a big jump on memory oc,fans are silent even at 100% (I run fans at 70% and 1150/1700 clocks 24/7 1.168v I think)

knocked roughly 30c off temps compared to stock cooler(and that wasn't a ref cooler either)

think both vrm temps don't go above 72-75c usually sit around the 65c mark

Ok, so I checked the box in CCC to enable xfire for applications that have no associated profile (just because) and disabled frame pacing, which resulted in this: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3295891?

Still weird, but it's getting there I guess... CPU is just at 4.5 for the moment btw.
