£40M Armed Robbery In Kent

I see plenty of people with the romantic view of this 'if you can do it, then good on you and all' but these robbers could be terrorists looking to fund their next venture, organised crime, and numerous other undesirable characters.

Got a good point there!

People on here are saying well done. how old are you posting things like that? You bunch of idiots try been tied up and having a gun in your face.

What? So if a crime is difficult, it's suddenly OK?

By that rationale, 9/11 was OK because it was innovative, unexpected and well organised.

And yes, I'm sure you're all about to tell me that's different because people were killed.

You're still wrong to say "fair play to them".

Has anyone heard the latest. According to the radio (classic FM), they are offering a £2,000,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.....private eye cap on methinks (or Magnum PI shirt)

Reminds of of an Eddie Izzard sketch actually:

Eddie Izzard said:
Pol Pot killed 1.7 million people. We can't even deal with that! You know, we think if somebody kills someone, that's murder, you go to prison. You kill 10 people, you go to Texas, they hit you with a brick, that's what they do. 20 people, you go to a hospital, they look through a small window at you forever. And over that, we can't deal with it, you know? Someone's killed 100,000 people. We're almost going, "Well done! You killed 100,000 people? You must get up very early in the morning. I can't even get down the gym! Your diary must look odd: “Get up in the morning, death, death, death, death, death, death, death – lunch- death, death, death - afternoon tea - death, death, death - quick shower…"

Just the expression I have for people like yourself who are applauding the thieves.

Just how you can congratulate people who took captive a family, whom no doubt thought they were going to die or at best be hurt, the man of the family forced to do what he is told at the risk of his family's lives, one foot wrong and the last goodbye he would have said to his wife and kid(s) was that morning, to be tied up for hours at gun point.

Yeah, I can see why.. what heros they are, absolute role models for the rest of us who have to work for our money, perhaps we all have it wrong and should follow in there enlightened footsteps?

those people applauding the crime..if someones smashed your car window and nicks your car stereo, will you be applauding them as well?

as people have said..they kidnapped at gunpoint a mans family..a 7 year old boy had his life at stake if his dad didnt do as he was told

a thief is a thief whether he steals an old ladies purse or 40m quid from a depot

The reason why people are hailing them as heroes, is because they see it as a victimless crime, despite the fact that the family will have gone through a lot of stress.

Comparing this to crimes such as rape, or other type of assault are just absurd.

To be honest, the thieves will have been playing on fear, and knew that there was little chance of them having to resort to violence.

And credit where its due, they have just managed to blag 40 million pounds :P

You really have not got a clue have you? Im sure you'd like to have your family taken hostage, mind you, you'd just think to yourself.....its ok there only playing on fear, they wont use violence.

Attack a member like that again and you get suspended.

No, they broke into a high security warehouse through low tactics of kidnapping a family including a mother and young child.

The warehouse just happened to contain £40m. If it contained a rare work of art or some such would you take the same attitude?

What matters isn't what they stole, it's how they stole it. Either is bad; neither are good.

You seem to have grabbed onto the wrong end of the stick.

The point I'm making is there are far worse crimes being commited, but this is being a made a big deal out of simply because of the amount of money they stole.

While you can bout har-har all day long, the fact remains that no one was injured, its arguable that it caused PTS or psychological damage, but without any evidence of it, you haven't got much of a case.

Yet if the manager had said I'm not helping you, he at the least would have been beaten or worse, not to mention his family.

But the fact remains that they didn't hurt anyone, so its irellevant.
