Well I am on a 4870, you on a 4850, it shouldn't make a difference but as you can see in the screens there is no AA option and it is blanked out in the all settings tab, mmmm, strange.

well ive got the 4870 and it is ok in mine, try installing it again

Just use Rivatuner, I'm running Rivatune with 8.9 and have setup and series of hardware threshold event to change the fan state.

i.e. default 25%, 70degrees 35% 80degrees 45%.

....but it never gets to 80.

Did you find that you were able to set rivatuner, go into a game but when you came out of the game your clocks were back at default? This happened to me after installing 8.9's. I assume its something to do with the 2d and 3d settings. Can anyone help?

I say give it a shot if you can't be arsed with RivaTuner and don't mind constant 35% fan noise (I find it to be acceptable).

TBH I've gone through a lot of crap with drivers lately so I'm just gonna wait and enjoy what games I can for now.

Ive had the same thing, i set my clocks high and when I come out of a game its back to default clocks. It doesnt always do it but nearly always after running the crysis bench tools. Also Its doen it with all drivers since the 8.6's and not just when using rivatuner to clock. Its even done it when using a custom bios with higher clocks.

Ive noticed we both have one thing in common, crossfire.

From what I've read almost all stock cooled 4870's idle in the mid-70's - how you achieve these temps (with an extra GPU bolted on) is beyond me unless I'm missing something...

Either way - nice temps :D

Not to hard to see why he has lower temps as he is running higher fan speeds than a standard card would be out of the box. Thats the only real problem with ati 4 series the stock bios has the fan speeds set far to low to keep the cards cool so up the fan speed a little then you have a much cooler card at idle and load.

I'll try that when the final Cat 4.10's come out...
