4870 + AC Accelero S1 Rev2 = F..T..W.

I'd plum for the 2x 92mm.

More air flow and more centered on the fins and blade tips over the heatpipes (in theory anyhow).

But i'm more then happy with a spare 120mm on mine.

Lets bring this thread back from the dead (Guess who just bought an Accelero).

Guys, Are you using the the fan output that is on the graphics card? From the pics it is looking like all of you are using a separate power source for the fan/fans.

Why is this? Are the fans not running at full speed all of the time with this method?

The fans don't fit the power connectors on the graphics card.

I'm still a bit confused with the ram cooling part.
is it: 1 - clean
2- put new thermal paste thats supplied with the S2?

or there is no thermal paste and just some sticky sticky stuff?
whats MX 2?

Installed my 4870 with an Accelero just this afternoon. Here's what GPU-Z reports after 5 minutes of FurMark with 8XMSAA.

What concerns me are the VDDC Slave temperatures - I have no idea what a VDDC Slave is, or how hot (or cool) it should be, but they look awfully high in comparison to the other temps. Am I right to be worried?

VDDC is the VRM's!

Have you put the VRM heatsink on??, when I got it on properly with some MX-2 my temps where like 90max.

willhub what was wrong with artic silver 5 compound?

how can the heatsinks not fall if theres only thermal paste. Is there anything else between thermal paste and heatsink?

Yes, I used two of the four supplied VRM heatsinks, but looking at the above pics, mine appear to be different than yours! I'll see if I can find my camera and upload a few pics.

Okay, apologies for the poor quality pic, but hopefully you'll see the difference I'm referring to. On my heatsinks (below), the fins hang over the right hand edge, but looking at the pictures above, it seems that other people have heatsinks where the fins hang over both left and right of the base (ie the fins are longer). Or am I just looking at the pictures incorrectly??

As you can see, my heatsink is NOT like the one in your pic bobbyboy... It's less than 25mm. I got four of these in the pack, along with the 8 RAM sinks.

And willhub, yeah, it's an S1 Rev 2... So looks like I need to send it back :(

Thanks for the feedback by the way guys.

I'm thinking of getting one of these but keep the OEM heatsink baseplate to cool the VRM and RAM. I've read the the heatsink needs to be modified to allow it to sit on the baseplate. Does anyone know whats involved?
