5 Things you must do

i have a life

Out of interest.... What does actually class as "having a life?"

I mean for example.... I have a Amazing wife, beautiful daughter, 3 bed nice house, Alsatian who i go running with 6 days a week for 4miles after work, I box 2 - 3 times a week, i play five aside football on a wednesday after boxing followed by a quiz up the local with the football boys, I spend the odd Friday out with the wife for some food and drinks + ofc with her most evenings. I take my Daughter to various places often, I play 11 aside on Sunday followed by some food and dinner at local and home by 3 :D?

Do i not have a life?

Most people that claim you need to get a life usually spend just as much time doing something else pointless.

My father use to complain how I played 3 hours of games a day years ago, while he'd watch upto 5-6 hours a day.

Same for kids at school all those years ago, and even now at college. I've a thriving social life, play as many games as I like and still did well in college and will be graduating from my second course in November.

1: build a pc
2: buy the most demanding games
3: run those games maxed out
4: complete the single player of those games
5: play multiplayer games maxed out with your pc.

Agree with the OP on a few points, though I would put things more generally. IMO to have a good idea what PC gaming is about you could:

1) take an interest in the hardware side of gaming - whether it's getting the most out of tight budget or blowing a few grand on a self-built watercooled monstrosity that causes the lights to flicker when you go near the power button

2) play an FPS long enough to appreciate competitive gaming (not necessarilly be anywhere near good enough to compete yourself)

3) play an MMO long enough to understand what the genre is about (doesn't have to be wow!)

4) be familiar with a few popular indie games

5) be at least a semi-active member of a gaming-related social organisation (could be a guild/clan in a game, a modding community, a forum etc).

1. Build a computer
2. Install some competitive games ( SC2 , Dota )
3. ROT until you become the best
4. You realize how much time you wasted, quit!
5. Enjoy everyday life

1. Build a pc
2. Get a nice comfy office chair that supports well and a nice big desk
3. Buy top of the range peripherals, 24" minimum monitor and some good audiophile grade headphones
4. Get a mini fridge for beers
5. Play games and mod them

I must play an MMO from release so as to rank up along side everyone else and joining a guild would be cool, thinking about Guild Wars 2
