5080 & 5090 Coil Whine Thread

Yeah all the comparison websites I saw were from the other couriers, like DPD, Evri etc. funnily enough they didn't include royal mail probably for some specific reason. How much did it cost you to send your 5080 back?

Yeah, I got stung for £48 to send it with Parcel Force.

Yeah deciding to return the TUF 5090, the coil whine is excessive under load, even though it's a good clocker, it's just going to **** me off every time there's silence in the game and I hear that whine. Now to decide to take the loss on insurance or do the 6 hour round trip and drop it off in person, or just Yolo send it lol

Phone the retailer first. I've never had to send back at my expense for bad coil whine. But the right decision for sure.

Consider following the approach I said here. If you say it’s faulty, they may offer to collect it from you, but expect to pay for the return.

Just be very clear that you’re cancelling the arrangement either way.

If you’re very tight on time, it might just be worth sucking up getting on with the return and paying for it (doing what you need to be done as per your agreement with the retailer). Also keep in mind that if you don’t make it clear that you want to cancel the arrangement, they may default to asking questions regarding sending a replacement - so it depends on whether that works for you.
