5090 Price

I'm actually impressed with the price of the 5080. If it beats the 4090 in raster, and AMD doesn't say anything interesting, I'll get one and sell my 4080.

I agree, at least I can stomach it given current GPU prices. I remember when £200 was a big ask for a gpu. a 5090 is overkill for me given I game in 1440p (ultrawide) but I'd like the extra oomph for the VR gaming I do. I'd like to think I could wait for a ti but... shiny new toys eh?

Yeah, I think it'll be important to see actual benchmarks that aren't from Nvidia's slides but it definitely seems like the most impressive.

I reckon this is a good estimate. Looking at the specs, the difference between the 5090 and 5080 is even bigger than the 4090 and 4080, so a bigger difference in price makes sense too.
Maybe I'll go:
5090 £2150
5080 £1250
Vs actual starting prices:
5090 - £1,939
5080 - £979
5070 Ti - £729
5070 - £539

So a bit 'better' than I thought. Will be interesting to see reviews I guess, but going by the specs I wonder if the 5070 Ti might be the the most interesting offering at those prices.

e: who knows what AIB prices and availability of FE cards or lower tier non-oc cards at similar prices will be like though lol.

So what’s the general news after this showcase, just got up.

I was looking at getting a 4070ti super or maybe a 4080 super at some point.

Can I expect to see price changes anytime soon?

Not initially - as the 5000 series will sell relatively quickly and that'll mean that the 4000 series hold their price for a little longer. I'd expect the 4070 Ti Super to start to drop slightly in price by the summer.

2-slot 5090 FE is actually insane. I wonder how it performs in terms of temperatures and noise
this is what I'm worried about, the aib's seem thicker 3 slot?? plus 3 fans. I've noticed MSI's liquid has a 3 fan rad as opposed to last years 2 fan.

So the 5090 release price of $1999 is around $400 more then a 4090

When you think people moaned like mad when the 2080ti release price was $999
It now double that high price in a matter of years :eek::eek:
Well, you also have to consider the fact that the 2080 Ti was a complete turd that barely improved performance over the previous generation. Say what you like about the 4090 and its pricing, but it delivered performance-wise. Presumably people expect the same from the 5090, but we'll see.

I'm concerned about that. Usually the FE is a no-brainer if you can get one but, if they've sacrificed noise and heat for form factor, maybe an AIB card would be a better bet this time round.
