I doubt it with a 30% increase in cuda but a lower boost clock.

This gen seems like a 20 series repeat but with the focus on AI.
I think if you're just looking at the DLSS 3.0 / 3.5 results then that's probably true.

However if you compare it to the DLSS 4.0 results you're likely see much closer to the 50% plus performance increases that are being suggested.

I would wait a couple weeks, if you have a £799 budget you'll get a better deal with the 5xxx series.

Yeah its hard though, I have all the parts to build my pc apart from the GPU, have free time very soon to build it as well, and then there is the potential of stock shortage at release, I could end up with no card for months if I decide to wait. Im not bothered as such about the new cards, this being my first build I can upgrade in the future if I wish.

If your CPU has inbuilt graphics then you can get it built and get it ready etc :)

Should be perfectly usable for browsing.

Much as I love the 4090FE, I'm not impressed with this new design. My 3080 was an Asus TUF so maybe I'll look at the 5090 Asus TUF (already on their website). Depends how much the Asus tax is.
Yeah same, I'm gonna go AIB also, probably for whichever one I can get considering stock situation

Thing is, every game that supported DLSS3 I had enabled it, we are in a new world, you absolutely can not write off AI gains now as almost everyone will use them

Most of the AIB cards I've seen from the various videos are 3 slot rather than 2 slot like the FE.

I suppose it depends what you're going to do with it; just stick with the stock cooler, or change it out for a waterblock.

What are we thinking the price in £? I know the exchange rate is funky I'm thinking £2300+ for aibs and founders and £2500 for high end aibs? Compared to what I paid for 4090 on release (1900)

Just stick with stock cooler tbh, I'm just wondering how the stock situation is gonna play out, granted 5080 will also release at same time so that should lessen it a bit but then again the 4090 people which sold out probably gonna go for the 5090 too, I fully expect a scramble again and no stock for months imo

There'll be artificial stock limitations to create scarcity, it'll also give certain retailers an excuse to jack the prices up because of mysterious reasons.... profit > not being scummy.

Unless the AIBs have a massive markup on the FE I actually think the 5080 will sell like hotcakes this time.

The FE price has pushed me from waiting until next gen to buying at the end of the month.
