I doubt that in an age where people argue about tiny details in RT/PT scenes.
That's because they're intentionally looking for these details. Play the game to enjoy and most won't notice anything. Even before RT/DLSS games would have some imperfections and some people argued whether AMD or NV gave better image quality via inspecting screenshots, a static image :D

No no I'm talking 20% gen to gen 4070vs 5070, 4080vs5080, 4090vs5090 etc. Purely on Rasta that's my minimum expectation.
I think a lot of people have been blinkered my the marketing similar to how they were with FG last gen, the 40 series had a decent raster increase though because they had a huge boost clock increase which this gen doesn't have so I think come reviews where most games tested are not running DLSS4 then we'll see the real world gains are a little disappointing.

I doubt most people notice the difference.
Real performance gains would be much slower without AI assistance now.
I think that is right but its also heavily constrained by caveats... How many PCVR games support DLSS 3.5 frame generation and therefore what use will DLSS 4 multi-frame generation be?

I don't know but it is an area where it is needed and probably wont be supported hence 'gimme the pure raster performance figures please'

I mean yeah, if you're happy for your games to look like this.

ah yes got you! I would like at least 30% in rasta ideally tbh, and similar in ray tracing

According to their own slides RT only is about 20%, rasta is the only one we don't have so I'm basing it on the worst figure from Nvidias own slides.

Yeh I'm waiting on reviews I'm basing it on the worst bar (RT) only, I'd like at least a 20% increase which should be possible given general hardware improvements, I'm not expecting 30% or above though. (I am prepared for worst case, but with me having a 1080ti the improvement regardless will be huge for me)

Either way I'll likely get the 5080 its at the price is want it, will be happy with a founders or AIB entry model at that price as long as it's under 1000.

Not sure if ill get a new PSU though I have a 850 but not with the right connection so I'd need an adapter.

Definitely makes sense to upgrade now if your still rocking a 1080ti.

Oh mate I was ready to jump last gen to a 7900xtx at 1000, but it ended up being 1100+

Lost my hype immediately and by the time it hit that price I didn't care, at the moment it's a great price (if it launched at that)

I've had a 144hz 4k for several years so I'm thirsty as he'll, still sticking to my 1000 limit, but a founders or entry AIB will do me nicely.

I paid 800 for 1080ti for me 200 increase after 8 years and 4 generations I can easily justify that.

You'll be looking at around a +200% gain just in raster.

Interesting to see the comment from Jenson in the keynote that the 5070 is 4090 performance - priced at $549. Expect a collapse in the 4090 second hand market at that price point.

Only in specific circumstances, with FG. Theres no way it gives general 4090 performance. If anything I would expect 4090 to hold its price quite well, it’s going to offer 5080 levels of performance with more vram.

Interestingly the Asus PSU wattage calculator suggests 7800X3D + 5080 recommends a 850W PSU

Also states that a Ryzen 9 and a 5090 will need a 1200W.
I only have a 1000W Platinum, so they are stating would need an upgrade.

ill be sticking to my 4090 for some time yet, those prices are crazy for a 5090.
Not as bad as I feared although $100 more than I predicted. Jenson is good with marketing with his talk of using one in a home entertainment PC, a command center. Makes it sounds very grand and appealing to buyers (what's $2k for a part for a command center :D? ). The issue will be the 'limited' nature of the FE GPU's and stupidly priced other offerings.

I've gone back through the tiers over recent generations and only use 4070 now. Personally, I'll stick with a 4070 as hardly play games now (still on Cyberpunk) but if I did upgrade it'd probably be the 5070. 5090, jus like the 4090 last time seems the one to buy however if people can justify it - its performance will be just so far ahead
