In all fairness if thats the case, thats still very impressive. But if its purely based on DLSS tech and not rasterisation/ray tracing then not so much5080 is meant to be 20% faster than the 4090 which I can see, no clue on other cards.

Its fake performance though, you get higher input lag, ghosting and artifacts, if you're happy with a substantial drop in quality just to see higher numbers on the FPS counter then go for it.I think if you're just looking at the DLSS 3.0 / 3.5 results then that's probably true.
However if you compare it to the DLSS 4.0 results you're likely see much closer to the 50% plus performance increases that are being suggested.
If I remember correctly RRP from the keynote was
5070 - $549
5070 Ti - $749
5080 - $999
5090 - $1999
50% jump gen to gen would be great, however i can see it only applying to the 5090. The 5080 and 5070 will likely be much smaller as they have been in previous yearsWell they made outlandish claims for the 40 series over the 30 series which were based on framegen being used on the former so I see no reason why they wouldn't use the same smoke and mirrors.
I reckon the 5090 will average 50% faster than the 4090 on average.
If the 5070 real life speeds are anything like what they say in DLSS 4.0 games, then unless you're getting one of those cards for less than the cost of a 5070 ($549) I don't think I'd bother.Oh wow, wonder what the likely hood is of seeing some big drops on current cards soon then.If I see bargain in the meantime on a 4070ti super or 4080 super I will go for one of them.
"4090 performance"
Would my 850w psu be ok for the new cards in particular the 5070ti?
(Ryzen 7800x3d)
Interestingly the Asus PSU wattage calculator suggests 7800X3D + 5080 recommends a 850W PSU5070 - yes
5080 - marginal
5090 - no
There's a screenshot floating around somewhere with the recommended PSUs for each GPU.Would my 850w psu be ok for the new cards in particular the 5070ti?

20% faster is surely not happening? And im talking specifically about 5070 vs 4090
Unless you mean 4090 vs 5090
I doubt most people notice the difference. Its fake performance though, you get higher input lag, ghosting and artifacts, if you're happy with a substantial drop in quality just to see higher numbers on the FPS counter then go for it.
Nvidia has switched its focus to AI and now its looking to sell its AI to gamers in place of real performance gains.
I doubt that in an age where people argue about tiny details in RT/PT scenes.I doubt most people notice the difference.
Real performance gains would be much slower without AI assistance now.
ah yes got you! I would like at least 30% in rasta ideally tbh, and similar in ray tracingNo no I'm talking 20% gen to gen 4070vs 5070, 4080vs5080, 4090vs5090 etc. Purely on Rasta that's my minimum expectation.
Whats MM?I'm now just here to watching the MM to try and snag a 4090...
