5800X Boost set to 5050Mhz all cores with AMD Curve Optimizer

:( Well, stock settings run even higher voltages lol. The clocks don't change if you don't increase the boost targets and power limits. It would be nice if you could undervolt without a disclaimer.
This thread alone has all kinds of information you are talking about. I can help you out a little if you want answers.

The new BIOS/Agesa 1.1.8.0 will contain AMD Adaptive Undervolting + AMD Curve Optimzer . Will be release soon as in very soon.

Great news. That was a couple of weeks ago. Is there info anywhere on release dates for bios’ ? (Other than checking motherboard support pages)
Well yes I posted it in thread and even quoted you the post before. Here is a video to watch if you want.

out of interest what in game overlay is that ?
just zoomed in to see it's afterburner

Interested in this also.
Can afterburner be used to show cpu temps yet? Im using the beta which is supposed to show temps for for Ryzen 5000 cpus...but doesnt. Or I can’t find a way to
I have posted it is afterburner ,you are correct and yes Ryzen 5000 CPU Temperatures works.Just like in the screenshots and videos I posted.

MSI Afterburner and RTSS Overlay Editor, I done a quick start up guide for the OSD and uploaded it to google drive. Included in the read me a link to the creators tutorials of MSI Afterburner and RTSS Overlay Editor. IF you want to start from scratch his name is Alexey Nicolaychuk just search youtube . https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Flt2EeznPd2HO438678AbjUHnwWf6E6D/view?usp=sharing

How does regular negative offset work when not using curve optimizer? I read something about an inverse relationship between vcore and vid but can't find the post right now. Also, should my LLC be set to lowest if using stock boost?
It has been posted many times, again I gave you the information in post#381 about post#62 that you should have read if you want to know since your an engineer. I even toss in quote for you check out from a Motherboard manufacture also along with AMD.
I am not trying to be a dick to you .Release date for the fixes has also been posted.December along with a video on some stuff Post#386

CPU Frequency Cannot Go Turbo Frequency
Note. This issue should be common issue on all motherboard vendor
This issue happens when using Ryzen 5000 CPU + PBO enable + adjust CPU voltage
Symptom: CPU frequency locks at base frequency and will not boost to turbo
Solution: No ETA

@RBImGuy
I have not notice any IPC uplift with 4K PC gaming but 5800X can run like a champ on ACO+PBO

Mass Effect Andromeda Boost All Cores 5000Mhz
Xuan-Yuan Sword VII Boost All Cores 5050Mhz
Assassin's Creed Valhalla Boost All Cores 5075Mhz

Im digging that FPS frames info panel you got , care to share a link to the program + your confg file :D
Sure no problem,I made a guide for quick start. It is a copy and paste since I get asked all the time.

Hey everyone, just thought Id ask here since there seems to be a few of us with 5800x chips...Ive had mine for 2weeks-ish now , got pbo+200auto oc on on a x570 e gaming, latest beta bios and Ive even got a new arctic fliquid freezer 280 but this chip of mine must be a sore looser of the silicon lottery cos it idles around 50-65 and would top out around 98C in cinebench r20 or even cod cold war if I hadnt set a hard temp limit in bios of 85 which results in lower allcore freqs...
So just wondering what are your temp experiences with your 5800x-s?
Did you even read the first post, did you even read any post. The answers are in this thread ,if you have unreal temperatures. Set override voltage. F en look 3 post up I am running 5800x in PC games up to 5200Mhz.

Thanks pal, having a few niggling issues though hope you can help..

everything is showing up but i cant get these options to work

min/avg/max not showing anything ?
also core clocks are not showing just black/blank..
game time played is also blank not showing anything.

apart from that everything else works, i tried selecting and adding but still nothing showing up under those options im probably doing it wrong, have any idea`s lol

Sure I can help. You have to have MSI Afterburner/RTSS (4.6.3 Beta 4) up to date for them to work.I just made the quick start up guide, to get you up and running but some leg work can be done with the links I provided, also you can make your own graphics/animation/graphs/bars and put them in.

Can be used in MSI configs also

Suspect min fps be affected even at 4k.
I just find 1440p be my resolution as 32inch screens allows immersion.

I have not found this to be a problem at all,I have tested this at nauseum. I have tested from 1080p and up . I can not say 100% certain for AMD 5000 CPU's because I only tested CPU scaling on 2600X/3600X/3600XT/3800X/3800XT.
Best advice I can say, with whatever Ram one has ,get the tightest settings possible and all will be fine on lower resolutions like 1920x1080.Higher resolution not so much.Ryzen FCLK is also a myth everyone throws around.

5.2Ghz is very impressive. Does it actually result in more performance in games or benchmarks from what you can tell?
I play PC games @4K. I should say I have not tested Intel resolutions @720 where CPU clock speed will make a difference in some game but that is no real life.
No performance gains at all in PC gaming that I have notice. I have been telling people test it themselves run CPU @4300Mhz/4350Mhz/4400Mhz/4500Mhz/4600Mhz etc and default out of the box clocks.
By testing I mean at least 3 runs of the same test and average out the numbers.

Now what I find hard to comprehend when someone looks at a chart with FPS benchmarks numbers and sees a difference of 123FPS vs 125FPS somehow they translate that into a huge difference.
Now with benchmarks like Cinebench you can get higher numbers but it means nothing in real life usage, unless you are a 3d artist that uses 4D Cinema. Then setting a stable all core overclock would be the way to go.

Also I know there is no difference in performance in the higher clocks even over default, I personally like the higher numbers.

For the 5200Mhz on my 5800X I have not nailed all core yet at the same time. I have also seen 5300Mhz in HWinfo64 but this is not possible and I do not believe the numbers at all unless I use BCLK overclocking then I would believe the 5300Mhz which I will show in this thread when I start BCLK overclocking .Ok I went way overboard there,I will stop now.

Well Ive literally now been reading back posts for 15mins and cant dfind what youre referring to! I did try a fixed vcore of 1.28 about a week ago but was unstable...I tried 1.32 which still wasnt stable but the temps were almost already where they ate without a fixed vcore, soo...
I would appreciate if u could just tell me the info again or point me towards the exsct posts discussing this. Thx

Yes I can try to help. My real advice would be return the AMD CPU and get another one. AIO Water cooling should not have problems with temperatures at all and top out around 80°C.
AMD own recommendations

For now to get your AMD Ryzen 5800Z working with desirable temperatures.

You can set CPU override voltage to keep boost clocks ,but the trick is to have enough voltage so you do not get clock stretching. That CPU override voltage would be around 1.325 on a 5800X after voltage drop however you set your CPU.
If you just want temperatures in the 50°C-60°C and do not care much about clock stretching then set CPU Override voltage to 1.25v and check out your boost clocks and test to see if it helps out some.

Go to BIOS.You have these setting in your BIOS
Press F6
Set all to optimize defaults and restart back in BIOS.
Do not tough anything but override voltage and put in your desired voltage. If you use CPU 1.22 override voltage you will get clock stretching but it is ok.

Dude this is a msi bios, I havent got a "cpu override voltage option" I have a Asus x570-e gaming board..
I have a manual voltage option, I went ahead and set it to 1.328 and the temps are about the same as before....and Im getting a pathetic 3.9ghz allcore boost...r20 score of 4356...this cpu is just hot....I dont think im gonna rma it cos even though it idles in the 50s its not harmful to it and I have it capped at 85...still getting a allcore boost of 4.4-4.5 at 85C and 3-4 core boosts of 4.7-4.8.....Its just a donkey of a chip for temps but performs as expected of a 5800x
I know what motherboard you have.

Did you read the google doc for the 5800X ,I wonder if my name is on it,yeah it is. Why do you think I do not know about this. Why you trying to shame me into some sort of guilt trip.Do you think I stated anywhere that I am one of the lucky ones (more than once in this thread alone)I am trying to help you and your being a take this video and watch all the 5000+Mhz glory you will never have

AMD 5000 series are the fastest CPU's that are out there. No need to do anything to the CPU unless your like me and like seeing the bigger number. There is no other reason to use AMD Curve Optimizer.

5800X Curve optimizer set to 5175Mhz 75% CPU fane speed Rank 2 DDR$ CL 20 3600

Another EDIT: I just seen someone claim this an hour ago in a thread that his
My L3 has doubled in speed as well from 2702 to 3003.
on Asus motherboard ,so maybe I do not know crap .This is on 5600X.
(44) ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Overclocking & Discussion Thread | Page 195 | Overclock.net

New BIOS agesa 1.1.8.0 has double L3 Cache numbers now, that is about time to be read correctly. Back to normal for L3 Cache

Something not quite right with your memory`s write speeds. im sure there ment to be not far off the copy speed or read speed but they look quite low in comparison.

You see what i mean this is mine but i defaulted the memory and run it a little slower than its defaults and tweaked just to show comparison..

i lowered my memory to 3800mhz @18.18.18 you can see read is normal and write is slightly lower then copy is slightly lower, yours has low write but higher copy

You just do not know how Memory works on AMD Ryzen and it is ok 100%.
On single CCX it will be half the speed of 2 CCX on AMD Ryzen 3000 and 60%-70% or so on AMD 5000 with 2 CCX.

EDIT the crap out of this so far :p:I guess I should also say AMD Ryzen first gen like 1800X would be the same as your 5950X on the numbers but I am just going of the top of my head here .Now my numbers are not exact to % point just guess. I will go look up the excat numbers if needed.

Then L3 Cache will be half again ,it is perfectly normal and how AMD Ryzen Memory works.

2600X and 3800X and 5800X and compare to your 5950X hope that helps. 2600X has the best memory so far. Switching back to 2600X. Anyway I can not stress this enough that ram does not mater that much at all in PC Gaming or applications ,tight timings are good enough

A CPU will last 10 years ,lol you gals/guys can not be serious,so soon after release on lower CPU voltages. If it was an Intel CPU would you say the same.F This I am going to sell my 5800X and buy an Intel 9900K there cheap and I will not have to worry about degradation .

Does not the AMD CPU's carry a 3 years warranty. With degradation, what is a horrible shocking loss over 5 years in PC gaming FPS. 1FPS-3FPS.
Are AMD engineers just stupid. I am not wondering about these things.Hell I had 7 AMD Ryzen CPU's in the last two years,I could not imagine 3 years.
Why are people scared of that word degradation. I know what it means I just do not get the fear part in a CPU degradation but a GPU overlclock or underclock not a peep about it,in fact people shunt mod there GPUs to trick the GPU that it is running lower voltage for 1FPS-4fps on a PC game or benchmark.

I finally have 1.1.8.0 for my B550-I, Asus seemed to release it last for this board.

Currently I have everything set to auto, I'm scoring 5961 in R20. Is there anything I should tweak?
Is this a trick question, you are in a thread literally about tweaking the AMD Ryzen CPU.
No to tweaking if your happy with your result in Cinebench R20. The scores I show below will not have more performance than your CPU at your current settings. The numbers are for showing off.

My 5800X with tweaking Cinebench20 if interested.Added single core also for fun
Single -663

Multi- 6441

Here is CPU -Z and Cinebench up to 5175Mhz
