5th May UK regional elections discussion and results

After tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and more than 10 friends killed I have a problem with Muslims. What's it to you?

Blame the government for sending you there not the natives of the countries you invaded.

Well as a Muslim what do you think my problem is?

Does anyone feel like explaining why this is bad other than "well he's a muslim isn't he". Otherwise it might seem like the worst of GD is posting again.

Well it's vaguely concerning on the grounds that Islam is a religion that has homophobic, misogynistic and prejudice against non-Muslims built into it. I don't like Islam so whilst someone might be and often is a nice person who can be trusted, it's always a little worrying when they ostensibly subscribe to a set of beliefs like that.

But then on the other hand, I look at Boris Johnson and ask myself how Sadiq couldn't be an improvement whatever he believes.

Don't care what people believe in, so long as it harms no-one and they leave it at home when they do whatever job it is they have to do, religion is a personal thing, between them and their god, not them and their job.

The new mayor of London isn't from Iraq or Afghanistan, he's from Tooting. He voted in favour of gay marriage and campaigned to keep his local pub open. I can understand why seeing the worst of a people would make you feel the way you do but Khan isn't your enemy.

Storm in a tea cup. Anti Zionist generally...

"Isreal" is one of this centuries greatest F_up's. People one day will look back on it as that.

But SHH, we aren't allowed to talk about it, or all the thousands of native people they have murdered...

I'm a critic of Islam (and all religion) but approve of the Kahn for mayor. The man's religion is none of my business and you can be assured the Mail will be watching his every move and decision if you are concerned

Gah, labour got in on the PCC around here. The Tory was doing a good job, but apparently the labour areas had local elections and the tory ones didn't so their turnout was higher.

If you genuinely can't differentiate mentally between the enemies you fought and everybody else that belongs to the same religion then I'm quite worried that you might not be receiving the support you need now you're back here.

Yes, like he's the only person to make a generalisation in the whole of human history. See 'The Jews', 'The West' and 'Catholics' for further examples of where the actions of a few has required the penance of the many.
