£600 amd build

You still haven't responded to the AMD core performance though, but I do agree that AMD offer better performance/value at the i3 3220's price region.

The OP asked for a small little cute case to please his woman.

As AMD don't have any good mATX boards (the only ones I see in stock are the old 7 series chipset) Intel seems to be the only option with this budget.

Oh, indeed, to get his mATX he needs Intel, but that doesn't mean they represent better value as stated in this thread lol.

The 6300 outperforms the i3 in 95% of gaming tasks. The i3 does have some advantages, for example if you were going to be using creo, or cad cam or any other 3D rendering programmes.

If you used 3D rendering programs the i3 wouldn't have an advantage over the FX6
There's also no games in that comparison.

That graphics card is horrendous.

The 6670 works in crossfire with the APU. So for not a lot of money you get some half decent performance.

Also, with the case & the aftermarket cooler, you should be able to OC the hardware quite nicely without too many problems with heat.

There is another 6670 with DDR5, but only 1gb. So the experts would have to say what is best.

I expect the DDR5 actually? As it will be faster to run with the ram?

Argh! I don't know why I bothered :p Trying to learn I suppose.

Ok, well, whatever. Don't like you anyway :p

Fair enough, it is more of a budget type spec, but you could use a cheaper case and then go for a 7850?

That is what I have in my set up and I get good performance in everything really. Very happy with it.

Would be nice to have an SSD in there for the extra performance, and general performance on some things, just makes the whole machine seem faster.

Just trying to provide something AMD based as the OP requested.

Some people just like going with certain teams!
