New i'd opened a can of worms when i asked for an amd build. The ol' intel v amd war makes skynet look like childs play :/
Thanks for the input guys. Loving the size of the intels i3 in the prodigy but stuck on the power of the fx paired with the 7950. Making a decision has never been so hard hehe. Some great builds indeed for the cash.

Its not always looking like that, but lately as I have to swap so much hardware about it just so much easier.

I am looking into getting a proper testbench.

To the OP, if you wanted the Piledriver 6 core Chip and to give yourself the best overclocking potential you would ideally want to go for a 990fx motherboard.

Unfortunately there is no mATX board in the 970 or 990 range of boards.

Your options would be to go for a full ATX board... you can still get some sleek and nice midi-case's that perhaps would fit in the living room.

You could go with a mATX board in the 700 series of boards, you would get overclocking out of it, but not a great deal and it wouldn't exactly be ideal!

Also if you were lucky you might beable to find a board in the 800 series of boards still floating about, there were a lot of boards with the 880 chipset that offered some good overclocking potential but you would find it hard to find one!
