60oz Steak challenge.

Biggest ive eaten is 24oz with chips and from that experience i reckon my max would be a 48oz. There is a 72oz challenge at a local restaurant but im to chicken to do it (or to sensible).

If you want a real challenge, then try the cinnamon challenge.

I reckon I could easily eat the steak, but I can't stand fat, so would fail on leaving that I guess.

I tried eating a 16oz or 24oz steak once, it gets to a point where it is just too much meat and it simply just isn't nice anymore. Chewing becomes work and the flavour of the meat is replaced by the urge to stop and eat anything but steak to give the taste buds a break.

Well guys,

Sorry for the late reply but it's taken me up until now to muster the energy required to do so.

I went into this challenge knowing it would be hard, but..WOW... it's much more difficult than i first thought.

The steak was huge as you'd expect a 60oz steak to be, but it was also extremely thick in places.

My plan was to cut it up in to smaller pieces, then just consume as fast as i could, leaving the chips till last.

I got through the first half quick in about 15mins, but was hit by the wall shortly after.
The other side of the steak contained much more fat and gristle, which according to the rules all has to be eaten to win.

This combined with the time it takes to chew resulted in me calling quits with around 15oz of steak, most of my chips, and mushrooms left.

Talking to the owners afterwards the record is the entire meal finished in 30mins:eek:

How this is possible i just don't know. lol

Had a great night though and would recommend to anyone in the area to try.

Few pics on their FB page too.

The only fat I eat is either lamb or piggy when it's gone a bit crispy. Beef fat doesn't seem to have the same flavour so just gets left.
