6600xt vs 3060 , 1 month in!

I made my point regarding a misleading video.
Poster is then mislead by video.

What is your problem now?

See this guys post below. Pretty clear. You then went on to say you bought a card higher up in the tier to cope with RT (as cards in this post arent really meant for it). If you cannot understand that then its done.

That test is more close to the Minecraft type of RT and not CP or ME which are still hybrid RT games. A more appropiate test to judge the hybrid RT performance is the Port Royale benchmark and yes Ampere is like 25% ahead in there.
But this has nothing to do with the low end 3060 or 6600xt, these cards are not able to run any form or RT at high settings/resolutions. HU were right to reduce some settings to the point where the game becomes playable, there is no reason to show that a card gets 10 fps but it is still better than the other that gets 5 fps. :)

Also.. this:
The first 3 are questions you should have asked yourself before buying a 3080.
  • Maybe you don't, but if you upgrade in 12 months that's almost 2 years of wasted GPU power and console like performance limitations.
  • No, but at 1440p (and DLSS) the gap will be much smaller in open world true NeXt GeN games.
  • No, but you don't have an up to date CPU. If you did you would get the full benefit of the 3080.
  • No.
glad I could help

  • There is no console that can provide the same performance as I get with a 3080.
  • You now admit that none of the cards you suggest would have been better than a 3080.
  • At 1440p I don't need the full benefit of a 3080. What I was after was the raytracing performance. I've said several times within previous posts that I would have been happy to keep 1080Ti performance for legacy workloads if all I got was RT and DLSS with the 3080.
  • My old 1080Ti was also somewhat limited by the 3770k yet I still manged my target 1440p/60 with it.

At what point did you consider youself helpful?

I bought a card with 1440p/60 with RT in mind. I went on to say that it doesn't suprise me that a 3070 wouldn't be able to do that. I also posted a video showing a 3060 running very well with RT and DLSS. Not everyone is going to target 60FPS and or higher resolutions.

Do you understand that?

I bought 3060 Ti for 1080p/60 RT and it hits the spot perfectly, CP2077 Ultra RT + DLSS. I get 50+fps (compared the 6600xt's 20+) without DLSS which is very playable but prefer to have a smoother capped 60 DLSS experience, it's great to have options.

Out of curiousity, what DLSS setting/mode are you using?

I managed to get a FE 3060ti and it's been amazing - I have been playing Control 4k with DLSS and High ray tracing and it's been flawless and looked stunning (I can't believe how much of an upgrade RT is when used properly). I moved from a Vega 56 that was noisy and hot even with under volt and I had loads of driver crashes. I thought RT and all that was a gimmick, but in the few games I have played (and DLSS is amazing) I couldn't be happier.

Yes worth the switch if you can recoup cost of the vega sale. No brainer.

Just to follow this up my brother sold his Vega for a sufficient price that his Sapphire 6600 XT Pulse OC only cost him £15! Bargain, makes the value of my upgrade in February look absurd.

;) no need to complain about the situation if this is quite straight forward!

Hash rate rather than FPS carries more weight now in terms of GPU value.
