700D carbon fibre build: Blackbox II

cheers reflux:) i'll see what I can do re MDPC
after it's up and running i'll have many small refinements to do...and yes first real mod, tho I did cut out the stock fan guard mesh on the tsunami while it was running, that was a hardcore moment

I put the top grill on and with the GT's underneath it looks very mean indeed:D

Thanks Mr May, glad you think so, that was my aim!

Life has been slowing me down:(

I have more pics to upload of moderate progress.
The case is pretty much ready now as far as aesthetics go for installing components. I'm just going to line the edge of the bottom 140mm intake area with vinyl to neaten it up a bit.

However I think i've now finally worked out the tubing route and pump placement in the case.

Need to order some white sleeving later to well, sleeve things lol

Got paid so am thinking I should order the aquaero system now so I can install it from the off:) Black fascia, white LCD text:cool: Thoughts?;)

Ok I want to say thanks to MNPCTECH in the US for promptly shipping me some screws for my build as well as a cool bottle opener!

So the loop is still running, the pump is a bit louder than I envisaged but he might settle down a bit later.

Really happy with how it is looking so far, now it's time for small refinements and sorting the lighting. Will be covering both the PSU and optical drive in vinyl to stealth them a bit. I will actually be stealthing the optical drive too:)

Need to cover back panel in vinyl as well as make a side window.

Probably going to order aquaero this week and get it installed to control the fans and pump. The fans make a terrific draft even through the rad, amazing. Seems overkill on 100% and too much of a woosh noise.

Oh and actually getting my PC up and working again:D

I'm uploading a video of the filling process onto youtube for you all to see, bout 30mins left even on a virgin 50meg line! that's 720 content for you...

cheers guys,
I just fired her up and all components are working still:D

Gpu idling 26 degrees or so, used to be 50.
CPU 28 degrees, used to be 38

Gonna play a game of star craft see what happens

with case side on after settling GPU idle is 30 degrees it seems, furmark maxed about 38 degrees:D I keep waiting to hear a cooling fan spool up and almost panick that it doesnt:) CPU maxed about 45 i think, will have to double check.

so much air flowing through the system, its like its breathing! whoosh of air, not silent but quietly powerful sounding i would say.

I really want to make a side panel and install some uv cathodes to make my tubing shine!

Edit: I am considering making the side window so as to only show from the lower division upwards. There is a guy on youtube who has done this and it doesn't look as odd as I thought. Looks cleaner in fact for not showing the PSU bundle.

What you guys think?

Yeh think window will now be 'bottom compartment divider and up'

As for night shots, atm it looks nice and subtle with the human eye, but I can't do it justice with my camera which is shocking in low light conditions.

It doesn't really look great, I need an SLR or something:(

Nottingham mate

Just ordered light tinted and plain (clear) perspex last night:)
And an aquaero 4.0 display system, 10cm and 30cm UV cathodes and some white braiding.

So hopefully this wknd I will have a window made!

@Gtiracer the tubes are too small to fit on the barbs without softening with boiling water first. Then they serve as their own clamp and will not come off with kilos of force. In fact a scalpel must be used and the tubing section binned.

The bottom tube feeding the pump from the res is sloowly kinking! Going to have to drain the loop which will be good practice anyway and put a slightly longer piece in to see if it helps. I refuse to use anti kink coils they look gash IMO in most cases.

I ill install also a bitspower black nickel temperature probe in the remaining port on the bottom of the res:) fed to my aquaero it will tell me the temp of the water, just something I am curious about!

Forgot I will also be illuminating the acrylic on the 470 block. Then I may eventually hook up to my RGB for a very slow 'fade-pulse' effect:)

ATM I am running just a silver coil with the ultra pure water, I have PHN Nuke but have not added any yet.do I need any drops also? Any compatibility issues anyone know of?

Got the aquaero, what a feat of electronic engineering it looks very impressive.
Will install tomorrow

yup but its still patent. will change it out tomorrow for a longer piece, hopefully this will fix it:(

cheers, the tubes are about 1/3rd as bright in real life i'd say

The small amount of purple the UV cathodes give off is really sweet, if only you guys could see this, the camera can't pick it up! Very happy with it, not got perspex yet, maybe tomorrow maybe not, gotta have window!

A mate just had a look at it, I gave him no warning. He was freaking out just looking at the size of the case, then, I showed him the side with the panel alreay off:)
He had no idea PC's could be liquid cooled, he was holding his head and swearing for about 3 mins lol.

priceless, it was worth it:D

new, longer unkinked tube in place, hopefully it will last:
P1010941.jpg

aquaero is now controlling the rad fans, the pump is noisy again due to air. when it has settled things should be quieter:)
P1010940.jpg

P1010939.jpg

edit; just put in one of the sensors for a laugh and stuck it in the rad exhaust stream to see how similar water and exhaust air temps would be. at first it was lagging by half a degree and now it's completely lined up! out by 0.1 degrees to 0.0 degrees now...

and for the purists I have more screws courtesy of MNPCTECH so the top grill is all sorted:)

aluminium sheet discs for fan hubs next...

Missed my delivery of perspex (i think/hope) which I will collect sat morning.

Then hopefully I can make a side panel and upload some pics for you guys!

Must order some more vinyl too...

Also ordering an adapter cable so that I can control the DDC, it's the loudest part of the system atm. The fans cant be heard they are STEALTH with shrouds :D

thanks all:)

well I've got my perspex now, think i'm going to use the tinted stuff, it looks brilliant, like it adds 'depth' and contrast to the internals instead of dimming it.

left my soldering iron in london so can't add the rest of the LED's or solder the pump to aquaero just yet:(

but it should be much more complete this time next wknd:)
watch this space

xspc UV blue (clear)

brilliant stuff IMO though it's the only tubing i've ever used as this is/was a first build

bends to a good radius and has NO markings on it! I hate the text tygon has, on really clean builds it looks a bit ridiculous IMO.

The blue this gives off under UV is soo soothing, like a deep cyan/tropical water kind of colour:)

pics don't do it justice. it's a lot less 'boy racer' than those pics suggest.

they are sharkoon UV cathodes centurion, really nice quality, quad 30cm kit for £11
