Yes, that's exactly what I meant.
Elitism tends to put 'normal' people off. Unfortunately it seems the prevalence of PCMasterRace graphics meme hasn't shamed people into being a bit more tolerant.

Probably the legendary Celeron 300A which was rated for 300MHz but could easily run at 450MHz. Obviously not extreme overclocking but I had fun with it and back then it was about as much as I could afford/justify.
These days I could easily afford more but find it harder to justify.

Lets not forget overclocking AMD CPU's with a pencil. Cant get more elitist than that !
