****7950 (disabled) BOOST BIOS thread****

I take that as a no then as stock clocks for the memory are 1250 and the bios's are either 1400 or 1500.

Just wanting to check before I flash

If you have overclocked your memory before you should roughly know what your card can do, nearly all of the cards reach 1400 from what I know.
Make sure to do a backup of your BIOS just in case ;)

Ok, thanks, as I said in my first post I have not clocked the memory yet so I have no idea how high it will go, but if most of the HIS iceq boosts will do 1400 then I will give it a go.

Just flashed mine through windows, worked like a charm :)

Tried 1070, 1400 mem

Trixx reports 1100 voltage... all seems very good so far, although benchmark valley reports 1070, 1500 mem?

anyway, Im happy!

My asic is 83.3

All 3 of my his cards have done 1500 no problem. They don't go much past that though.

I had something similar with wrong clocks. Reinstall driver and any overclocking software and it will correct itself.

Make sure to not touch the voltage on memory, to see how high it will go on stock.
My went to 1600 on stock voltage. I currently run the profile with 1070/1500 1.180v and had no problems - http://scr.hu/0ozg/l9bti temps speed fan auto.

EDIT:

I'm glad that this works for you as well, BIG THANKS TO khaboom! He did all the work, I was just testing and reporting back to him.

Hi

at 1500, I get tiny red dots in Metro. Now if I set it back down to 1450 all is ok. but as soon as I restart PC it jumps back up to 1500, the underclocking is not sticking.

In GPUZ, it reports 1500, but I flashed the 1400 mem bios..I also tried 1050 1400 and memory still shows as 1500. I have re-installed drivers/trixx aswell

It seems that no matter what bios I flash to it, it sticks on 1500 memory...

Atiflash all day long tommy, never flash in windows.

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2230/atiflash-4-07/

You will need to force the flash or it won't work so type

GPU1
atiflash -f -p 0 biosname.rom

GPU2
atiflash -f -p 1 biosname.rom

Thanks matt, tried the old:

atiflash -f -pa biosname.rom

command to do both at once, but it wasn't for having it, so done them individually, but it's a success nevertheless. :)

:D

Which profile did you pick?
I'm thinking of trying out 1000/1400 to see what voltage I might have. At the moment running Trixx to lower the voltage to 1.14v :D

The 1.180v 1100MHz one, AB is still working for oc'ing too, thought it wouldn't work?

Btw matt, mines would never fit behind the tree, the tip would protrude.:p

MSI AB is very glitchy with modded BIOS and even thou it shows you that OC it might still run stock 1070/1500 or whatever profile you picked.

Good to hear bodybag. Any idea what the problem was?

He set the 1500 clock on other profiles where the clock should have been 1400.
I also got a message from khaboom about lowering voltage on these profiles. Waiting now for him to finish modding the BIOS, as soon, as I get the BIOS will run some benchmarks. ;)
