8 PACK MEMORY RANGE GROWING: SAY HELLO TO 8 PACK RIPPED EDITION & 32GB KITS!!!

BIOS settings DDR3800 / IF1900 / CAS14
thanks for the screen shots etc. Except for the chip (mines a 3700X) i've got the same and it's good so far.

EDIT: spoke to soon, ran memtest and it's erroring. ramped down to 3600 and it works again. Bit annoying.

I have https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...3600mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-my-001-8p.html

I reckon given that @Guest2 has the 3200 c16 i could get more out of it but I dont really know how.

I had a go at improving the timings of my 2x16GB 28800C16 3600mhz ram. First time at this so wasn’t sure what to expect, just used DRAM Calc and followed what some of you guys having been doing. It does CL14 no problems, and latency is improved from 75ns or so on a 3700X to 67ns

Pretty happy with that.

yeah i know. this makes me sad x2 because with my faster ram, i should be able to at least duplicate your settings.
You put “I reckon given that @Guest2 has the 3200 c16 i could get more out of it but I dont really know how.”
I dont, i have 3600 c16.
Every set if RAM is different, along with motherboard, bios settings and case. I also had to change multiple settings in bios like CPU vsoc, vddp and others.
Airflow probably helps things a bit too, gpu (3080) never goes over 65c when loaded and most of the time RAM is only slightly warm to touch unless heavy benching

yeah i know, i made a mistake. I have 3600 c14 2x8GB. I was trying to say that I think i ought to be able to get it to 3800 with your timings.
Are right, yeh that makes sense then and guess in theory you should be able to.
Presuming you have the same motherboard, same bios, all same settings and similar airflow. But then all ram kits (and cpu’s) are different so all the ‘in theory’ stuff goes down the toilet.

I could have the exact same setup as someone else but their cpu may do 100mhz quicker or 100mhz slower than mine. I’ve never liked the idea of ‘pot luck’ when buying identical parts.
If i spend £500 on something, i dont want it to underperform against someone elses thats £500. If i spend £400, then fine

I had (have) the 16gb version of this samsung b-die kit I think it is, mine simply wouldn't post past 3500 on my old 3900x but the new 5900x will do 3800mhz on this 3600mhz kit easily.

Its the IMC on the cpu? Something like that as the kit is capable of 4000mhz according to 8pack.

Same here, it just woudn't have it with the old chip.

I would agree with you if he was running a 3000 series CPU, but he's got an x5950.

Can someone please advise on what I'm doing wrong.

I have 2x16GB 8 Packs 3600Mhz memory which is stable at docp but adjusting any of the timings or recommended settings via DRAM calculator results in either system failing to boot or memtest failing.

Here is the DRAM calc settings, I've tried both "rec & alt3" along with increasing voltages ect (docp timings are being used)

Pretty happy with that

a few tweaks here and there and I’m now down to 66.3ns latency

Mine is very similar to yours - latency down to 66.0
Not done any tweaking on the ram for a long time, I usually do it in the cold & wet winter months.....so wont be long now lol

So adding a couple more sticks of 3600 c14 8pack ripped into my x570 Pro, will still allow 'XMP fire and forget' but with 32Gig instead of 16?

Am thinking DCS and MSFS2020 may need some extra mem.

I've got the 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz which has been sitting pretty at 3600MHz since December last year, but now won't boot at anything less than 2400MHz, has anyone experienced this before?

Not on 8pack but i have had issues with corsair did not like the voltage over the long term and have never had any issue with team group ram in general over long term with high voltages.
