Excellent, I have GeIL 6400 DDR2 Ultra low latency and planning on getting something from thermalright to cool the CPU.

Yeah im running at stock, and ive got my 320 Mb GTS here now, just got back in . :cool:

Install it man, and give us some results compared to your X1800XT.

BTW, did you get the BFG version? how is it for overclocking and so on.

The limiting factor here with this 8800 is the 2.4ghz C2D you have,

you will not see the cards full potential

easy i looked at the tuniq tower but went for the AC Cooler freezer to just hit 3?
Im in a a900 if this helps aswell. Any danger?

3ghz is nice with a 8800 you will have enogh not to bottleneck the card

This thread reminds me of the e4300 overclocking thread, many, many pages of chitter before anyone got one :rolleyes:

At least now u got an Nvidia card you can be a proper fan-boy, always found it a bit weird someone owning an x1800XT made more bad comments about ATI than even anyone from the 'exclusive' G80 club lol!

From personal experience the difference from an x1900xtx to 8800gtx is VERY noticeable so from that I would assume x1800xt to 8800gts follows suit

Maybe, I believe that to get any real benefit from an 8800 you need a 24" screen though. Otherwise you're just adding frames to already smooth gameplay.

I've been using a 24" screen for two years now (1920x1200) although I have never really been able to do a lot of gaming at that res with phat graphic settings, with the Radeon9800Pro I finished Far-cry but that wasusing upscaled 1024x768 :rolleyes:

still it was really good. X850XT was better but got the odd laaaag in some games at 1920x1200. The X1950 Pro seems a lot happier running games at 1920x1200 although it still needs a bit of 'minor' tweakage to get it just so.

I'm guessing the 320MB 8800GTS is roughly twice as fast as the stock x1950Pro? I just can't see how this new card would have problems running games at 1920x1200 let alone lower resolutions?

Its nice to have every single graphics option set to full but me myself I'm not prepared to pay an extra £100-£300 quid just to see hairs on the chin of the guy I'm about to frag!
