8800GT Ramblings Thread

£147 inc VAT would be a fair price in my eyes as many can buy 2 put them in SLI and rip past the GTX at basically the same price which is what were hoping for.

Im in no position to SLI so i will eat my hat if theirs no 8800gts rev2 and i have just wasted time!

Is it worth going with OC2/Superclocked?

wait and see, it wont be long before a fair few people get the not overclocked ones and have a go at overclocking to see how easy they overclock to the oc2 speeds. Im guessing with the less heat/power neded due to smaller core they should overclcok quite well, like the new 45nm intell cpus do, but i bet the main problem will be the single slot cooler causing heat problems with overclocking too much.

The extra money for the overclocked cards is for the warenty, overclock it yourself and if it fails, your down £180, buy the overclocked version and if it fails, its covered by the warenty

No one can tell wether a card has been overclocked or not.

And how the hell would they know you overclocked the card? it could be just a general failure as far as their concerned.
