8800GT Ramblings Thread

Really tempted to get an 8800gt since im currently using an 8600gt. wont be selling the card just gunna put it in my dads pc.. lol

But im only using an AMD X2 3800 and i wanna get the 6400 so im not sure which to spend the money on as i can't justify buying both now

yeah i found thAt before with oc cards actually losing points or worse with higher oc logic would say it should be higher why is that?

ive got a 3800x2 and im keeping that just oc it some mines at 2.6 at mo should be fine.im waiting to see how the new amd stuff does in next month or so before upgrading cpu.

Keep the 3800 and get the 8800GT, 6400 really isn't worth the amount, especially with the new chips on the horizon, well somewhere on the horizon, who knows where...

Have you clocked the 3800 at all?

Nope. i should do really since my cooler keeps the pc so low that my feet are cold when im sat next to the pc.

Did anybody notice if any of the reviews out over the last few days showed minimum and maximum frame rates as well as the average ones?
Yes, the firing squad review posted earlier has min, max and average framerates for a load of games. Damn fine review and has lead to me placing an order for one in about ... oh ... 5 minutes :-)

Im going to leave it just now, this office is like a tropical island with the heat in it thanks to the women, ive got vista 64bit to setup, so ill get that squared away first, the card was sitting at 80 degrees after running 06.

I know what that's like and it sucks, it's the same in high-street shops where the women crank the heating up to tropical levels, god knows why they're allowed to do that.

Fortunately my office is on 23C A/C!

so from what ive gathered with reviews if you can get 700 (which some super clocked ones are) you ve bascially got a gtx 99% in all games.

Will get my gigabyte GT tomorrow, just wondering if its worth doing a clean install of the OS after being on a 2900, or just make sure i can get as much ATI leftovers out as possible.

Evga one is, Height: 111.15mm
Width: 228.6mm

according to their website, would assume its slightly longer than the 1950pro
