8800GT Stock?

Well my Asus 8800 GT has been shipped! *quiver of excitement*
Good thing too since they are now listed as out of stock!
Nvidia really pulled a good one here didnt they? The things ae selling like hotcakes!
Either that or they pulled a bad one by not having nearly enough stock out and ready to meet the demand....
Depends on your point of view :D

Yeah but they were making 50,000 per week so not bad sales. And I always said before launch that will mean ocuk will be lucky to get more than 100 cards per week in since those 50,000 cards are for the world market and I guess a larger share will go to the states.

Not sure how much a retailer makes but lets say after their cut is taken off and shipping costs and packaging nvidia only get £60 which I'm sure they get more, it's still £3m per week turnover on one card.

And I'm sure retailers are happy about stocks been less than demand as every retailer is making an extra £30 per card.

Looks like ocuk will have sold more than 3000 cards this week so an extra £90,000 of profit on top of their normal profit will bring a smile to Gibbo's face :D

I think LOADS of 8800 GTs arrived....
Ages ago :p Including loads of EVGA Crysis bundles. However Gibbo has been taking them and selling em in a dark alley somewhere :D

cant be bothered waiting longer for my crysis bundle, gettin pathetic with all these dates getting took back

How do you cancel order's, and how long does it normally take for money to be back into your bank ?

I ordered the a gigabyte 8800gt yesterday whilst they was in stock surprise surprise it hasn't been posted and they are now out of stock, seems like the stock indicator isn't too good, i also sent a web note in at 2pm and didn't get a reply

One of the xfx features is a slightly larger fan

http://www.xfxforce.com/web/viewFea...ML&c_date=20071119&c_desc=alphadogrelaunchusa

Not sure if thats strictly for the "alpha dog" card thats being flogged for £230 or so, and if so is that why its much more expensive?

(on looking at it it does seem the bigger fans only for that version of the card)

It's not a bigger fan, I had one and it's the same size as all the rest. If you look carefully at the picture, the only difference is the left one is zoomed in. All the 8800gt's xfx do are alpha dog, even the bog standard one is alpha dog. XXX ones are clocked higher.

Well theyre advertising it as a "Bigger, Meaner Cooling Fan" so i dunno why they would advertise this if it was obvious it wasn't.

It is bigger in the pic. If you look at the whole card, I know the pic of the XFX is bigger but look at the gap from the bottom of the fan to the bottom of the card there is obviously less of a gap. Its also got a bracket on the top.
