8800GT Stock?

To the poster with the low score on an Opteron - try downloading the AMD dual core optimiser from the AMD site here - http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...1_9706,00.html

For a dual core, the 3dmark06 score on the 8800GT should be ~11K. Always.

Also, enter your nvidia control panel and make sure that you have everything set for performance, especially no AA instructed to override applications. Because it's obvious if you've got your AA at 8x to override the 3dMark06 program, you'd essentially be running it at that high AA hence no wonder the low score!

Are you sure? That's the score a Core2 Duo will get not a AMD?

Dunno about that either, leave the nVidia control panel set to 'Quality'

Good advice though on making sure things like AA haven't been maxed in the drivers though. I just leave all that stuff at default myself.
 
Only from my experience, dual core cpu needs to be nearer 3ghz to get 11k, at least with Intel.

My score is based on no AA and slider set to quality in Nvidia CP
 
wOOt finally here!! After being kicked around on the storeroom floor for 2 days then shipped to the wrong country I finally have it in my hands. My precious:D

I would not trust too much the tracking service because my GT was shipped the 22/11 and today on the Royal Mail Tracking service, I have still the same result since the 22/11:
We have received your item, posted on 22/11/07 and it is being processed for delivery abroad.

So either my card it still in UK :(, either it's lost :mad:, either the T&T is not updated and I'll get it tomorrow :cool:

HI there

Just had more BFG OC and OC2 arrive, but only about 40 of each so not enough to clear all backorders but at least were shipping more of those.

The Zotacs are booked in too, so those should start shipping around 4pm.

We've also had Asus arrive along with more PNY too.

Should be performance. Also a Intel dual core will always score more than an AMD dual core at the same speeds.

My 4200+ clocked at 3Ghz and my 8800GT at 720/1900 only gets 10,500. The cpu score lets me down badly.

I would guess even an overclocked AMD with a stock GT will only get 9000 points.
 
I'm getting good framerates, even in battles, just 06 score is 8k when should be 11k :(

Thats what i thought. I was trying to point out that 11k is not guaranteed, even If you have dual core.
 
The newest (beta) drivers are 169.09 for WinXP 32bit, so you have the latest ones

Gibbo, I don't suppose you could tell me if the order i placed last night at 8:15 pm will be arriving tomorrow? Just want to check because i have a BFG 8800GT OC coming as part of the order and was wondering if it was going to get held up because of it.
