Thats all I wanted to hear GTX speeds for 199 quid! give and take 32 stream processors :D

Well since the auto detect wouldnt work easy I thought I would just give those speeds a try for you ;)

Believe me mate, that was one of the FIRST things on my mind on saturday morning when it arrived, I thought, I wonder how high this will clock under auto-detect! Afraid at the moment with my system at least it doesnt want to do that at all!

I feel like I should pick up an e4300 so I can effectively clock that to 3Ghz on my system now though, I wanna break 10k! Anyways Im so happy with this card its unreal!

And another thing easy.....you realised I didnt spend £150 on this didnt ya? Cos a lot of people are assuming i did :p lol

Yeah mate I understood that lol

Thanks for doing the clocking too :D

Nice results ;)

No problem mate, its an awesome card! No point looking back now :)

the R600 will need to be something special to beat that Price/Performance level and I do love my ATi cards as well! GOnna wear some Green tints for a good while now

jrodga2k5 I agree. It'll be interesting to see how the R600 plays out, let alone comes out in terms of looks, cos if it carry's on looking as some pics show then a lot of people are gonna be changing cases just to fit this sucker in. Personally I think the R600 won't beat the 8800GTX, but even if it does, by the time ATI releases this big bad board Nvidia would have probably released the 9 series :p.

Despite not being able to get auto detect on the NTune thing to work properly I decided to manually clock the card, I went to a 652mhz core and 900mhz(1.8Ghz effective) on the memory and then thought that sounded okay for a shot! :) Now I could have clocked higher but didnt wanna risk anything....so as it stands, at the moment I know it can reach 152mhz more on the core and 200mhz more on the mem, not bad so far.

3DMark Score 9362 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 4358 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 4445 Marks
CPU Score 2029 Marks

As we can see again that cpu is holding me back somewhat, 10k on the right setup will be so easy tbh! :D

That is awesome!!! especially for 2.3ghz CPU.... £200 jesus! full face watercooling block on one of these and overclock it and then pair with a 3.6ghz e6600 you will be laughin! :D :D

Thanks jrodga! that was much appreciated

I've been waiting for these cards to hit the market before I upgrade from my 6800GS any chance one of you guys that have got this card can answer some questions for me.

- What kind of temps are these things running at, idle / load.
- Will this card run on my Hiper 580 Type R.

580 Watt unit manual says 18A on 12v1 and 20A on 12v2. Common sense says it should have the power but I am just wondering if anyone has experience on this?

The rest of my system is fairly low load.

1x Sata HD
1x DVD-RW
4x case fans though I could run it on two
P5B Deluxe Wifi
C2D E6600 oc'd at 3.0Ghz

£200 for a card is still way over the top wow i can get a great board and e4300
for this money.

Not really, you seem to forget this is a hardware enthusiast forum, and this card is currently the 3rd most powerful out. If you put it in perspective with the full blown GTS cards being shy of £300, and GTX being £400, its a lot cheaper in comparison, and even enters the upper area of the more mainstream market, something which cant be said of the £300+ cards.

Im not saying its cheap, but these are high end cards, whereas your comparing to low end current cpu and mobo. A higher end cpu is over £200 in comparison, without a motherboard.

OOooh I'd love to try out one of these babies and at £200 its well within reach, but I shouldn't really be playing games untill summer (exams :( ) so its kinda pointless.

In anycase has anyone done comparision between the 320mb and 640mb versions? I would have thought at the image quality levels reachable by the GTS games would be taking up well over 320mb ram. Anyone care to try out Quake 4 at ultra quality? Or Company of Heroes at ultra? Does it stutter?

Its here ... You can check the graphs only :>
http://www.in4.pl/recenzje.htm?rec_id=388&rectr_str_numer=3

bottom line in 1280x1024 faster then 640Mb (overclocked EVGA same as on OCUK i think)...in higher res and AA FSA enable not enough Ram to play smoothly

WOW, thanks for the link man,

So would that be the same results as buying the £199 BFG card
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-039-BG

and simply overclocking the core from 550MHz to 580MHz and the memory from 1600MHz to 1700MHz ? (would this be considered a small(safe) or large(little risky) overclock?)

Or is there any other vairables between the 2 cards?

Damn, that's what I was afraid of. If those numbers are concrete, i'm going to definitely have to spend the extra for the 640MB as i'm on 1680x1050 and want AA/AF, the works.

Idle/load temps are mentioned, 54-56 idle and as high as 68 load!

I run it on a Hiper Type R 580w and Im sure mines says something like a 30A rail in my manual!

Gusy I would take that review with a pinch of salt because I cant see it taking the speed of the card down to lower than that iof a 7950gt 512mb when you jump up to 1600x1200, it is a faster card that that, if anything it will be more driver issues or something. I would like to see someones test with this though!

Anyways I only play at 1280 x 1024 so im happy enough :D

Hi there, can someone tell me the actual length of the card please? is it longer than the 7900gt? It's just I've got a zalman heatsink on my chipset which if I had to trim down even more would mean a mainboard out senario for the upgrade  which is no real problem other than it would be rather hard to sneak that one past hubby :p and as I've recently splashed out for a 22" monitor I'd be pushing my luck abit :(

turbotoes

the last Ati card I had was a rage 128, so I wouldn't know the length of a 1950pro if it bit me :~)

Yup for those with larger monitors the 640mb is definitely the better choice. I run a 19'' at 1440x900 so fortunately the cheaper 320mb should suit me fine.

The card is the same as an x1950pro in terms of length so around 9inches

Yeah ideal as that res is actually lower than 1280x1024 ;) so you will have really fast widescreen performance, i refuse to be convinced of some of these reviews so far, we will see later on today however with reviews going up everywhere!

I await Guru3d's review!
