8800GTS 320MB Results so far....

Sorry but this card should be £150 and no more you can get a 640mb version for around £230 if you look hard.

i very much doubt you can get a bfg 8800gts 640mb for that price, people pay more for bfg with its lifetime warranty, if you only want 1 years warranty fair enough but lifetime warranty gives a good resell value.

Well mines came with a 2year warranty @ a good bit under 200! so I was happy enough! :)

For the lifetime warranty the £200 is more than a fair price and you wont find a BFG at lower prices than OCuK pretty sure of that! ;)

bottom line in 1280x1024 faster then 640Mb (overclocked EVGA same as on OCUK i think)...in higher res and AA FSA enable not enough Ram to play smoothly
The 320MB card is clocked at 580/1700 whilst the 640MB is at 500/1600. They really should have clocked them the same so that the results can be compared purely based on the difference in memory. This clock difference really "muddies" the low res results.

There isn't actually much difference in the high res results in general. Apart from with Call of Duty 2 which I suspect is some kind of engine/driver glitch.

YEah pretty sure its a driver glitch myself as performance is superb,I wish I had the means to test the resolution higher, but I shall just wait for other sites to bench it properly :) come on Guru3d!

I was expecting more from these cards tbh, 14k in 05 is only 1k more than my x1900xt. Has anyone here swapped from an x1900xt to the 320mb 8800GTS? If so, is there a noticable performance boost?

Yeha but chekc the 3DMark 06 results that is where its at mate ;) plus the directx10 stuff is a godsend once it takes off!

I ran an x1950pro before this card and an x1800xt so I can pretty much say there is a big difference in games, Oblivion is the biggest difference from all the cards so far, anything with really complex shaders will benefit more.

I kind of ignore the 05 results now anyways just more 3DMark 06 and gaming now!

have to agree, my 06 score on my x1800 XT was about 4.7k, im hitting over 8.6k with this, and the gaming performance is absolutely staggering compared to my old x1800, this just totally blows it away in the gaming stakes, i wasn't expecting such a huge leap in performance, for example Oblivion with 2xAA/16xAF HDR on, maxed eveything 1280x1024 was hitting about 32-40 odd fps outdoors on my x1800, now on the GTS, ive now got 16xAA /16xAF HDR on, everything maxed, even multisampling on, and my lowest frame-rate is about 44 outdoors, its incredible, loads more AA etc... and it just poops all over my x1800, i can't see the memory making a difference either as i had 512mb on my x1800, but even though this has only got 320mb its still cutting through Oblivion maxed out with not a jot of difference, its still as smooth as a babys bum.

I've been waiting for these cards to hit the market before I upgrade from my 6800GS any chance one of you guys that have got this card can answer some questions for me.

- What kind of temps are these things running at, idle / load.
- Will this card run on my Hiper 580 Type R.

580 Watt unit manual says 18A on 12v1 and 20A on 12v2. Common sense says it should have the power but I am just wondering if anyone has experience on this?

The rest of my system is fairly low load.

1x Sata HD
1x DVD-RW
4x case fans though I could run it on two
P5B Deluxe Wifi
C2D E6600 oc'd at 3.0Ghz

I hope it does as I just ordered it to use with my 8800 which is coming tomorrow

Nice , Good thing i got my new PSU Tagan 600watts for £55inc del (new) LOL
Can some one tell me if this is noisy? I run my game @ 1280x1024 (Normal LCD) it would be better for me to get a 320mb version then anyother right?

also how many PCIE power molex does it use?

much appreciated
