8Pack super fast smash the rest i5 Skylake Overclocked, Discounted killer GAMING bundle.

It will work yes. Intel are binning no CPU including the K series as far as I can see from testing many. So this CPU has a chance of beating 6400 or 6600 or 6600K but they all have an equal chance.

Everything hooked up on the box and using a jumper to simulate the power button but get fans for a few seconds and then everything goes off. Little red light appears next to the DRAM LED label.

What am I missing?

I've overclocked, those instructions were very good thank you.

Strangely though (yes, sorry, the questions continue), I'm trying to software build now and Windows 7 64 bit pro is asking for a driver disk before it can start setup. Odd, not seen that before. I'll try Windows 10 now instead but anyone have any idea why that might be?

Windows 7 does not have NVME support Native mate. 8.1 or 10 working fine.

Ah, cool. Ta.

I've definitely got something wrong hardware wise though I think. Turned off after the Windows error and struggling to get an image up again now.

CPU led is flashing 3 times, going off, then coming back on.

Removed the CPU cooler, reseated the chip and still won't come back on. DRAM_LED is constantly on now, then it seems to power itself off, come back on and flash.

Not had much luck with Intel based systems recently! I must have some positive AMD aura!

Seems Intel are blocking non k overclocking with all new bioses

Any words gibbo/8 pack?

That didn't take long. Asrock issued a bios yesterday that removes bclk overclocking on their boards. The interesting thing about that article is that they say that a microcode update can be delivered in a Windows update. If that happened would all the people who bought these bundles be able to return them for a full refund as they will no longer have a pc capable of overclocking? Can Microsoft force retailers such as OCUK who are selling these bundles to stop doing so? Surely it makes sense to stop selling them now anyway?

God knows. It took me about ten posts just for OCUK to take my advice and add the disclaimer.

So since they added that then I assume they won't have to take returns. I have saved them thousands!! :p
