8Packs no BS testing Intel 8700K and Z370 with Delid 5ghz and above available from OCUK.

My system just crashed, the 5.2GHz OC isnt stable, it survived 2hrs of stress test. Then i decide to stress it again for the night but it crashed after 4 hrs ....

Mate I agonised lol. I was originally planning the Asrock Taichi (more power phases, all USB3+) and 360mm AIO. The Hero is in stock and has on board reset, clear CMOS and other switches so that plus the BIOS swung it (just). ScienceStudio on YT said even though the case says it supports 360, 'basically, good luck with that' (fitting 360 in the Enthoo Pro M). I then hit some reviews and settled on the Fractal 240 due to its integrated fan controller, low noise and decent cooling. It didn't even occur to me to go 280 TBH, but with a delid and 240mm AIO I don't think it should be an issue? I can always change the order if you know any better? I looked long and hard at the Gaming 7 which you ordered, it's a nice board. There's not much in them at the same price points tbh.

I am re using my corsair h100i which is a 240 mm radiator with a push/pull fan config . Running at 5.2 with a 1.4 core voltage am running the hero board have to say the flashing lights are rather soothing xD . After gaming for 3 hr I am hitting max temps at 65c.Even have the fans set to 30% with speed fan. Used thermal grizzle kryonaut .I have a phantom 630 full case so there is tons or room for the air flow. My cpu is just a standard retail so delided you will be more then fine for gaming. Aint dont any stress testing so far myself.

Raise Sa io slightly and vcore.

Do your normal workloads. Any stress test only proves you can run that test in anycase not you can run your own workloads.

We test for one hour real one hour prime 26.6 and real bench stress one hour. Not like 24 hours or overnight.

This is fine. :-)

My system runs at 40-45 deg when idle and 65-75(after 1 hour) when under intensive load. 85-95 when under a stress test.

Just raised it slightly (VC by 0.025, sa and io by 0.1)
Under normal workload , yes its stable but when i though it was pre-binned for 5.2, i though it would be stable for all work loads :S.

:(. it's almost impossible to test for all workloads though on an individual CPU in a short period of time. i mean, if they did, it would take several months and the cost would be eye-watering.

back in the day when i could be bothered, i used to run Prime and IBT for a week, 24/7. even that isn't enough, my old cpu passed that but would fail occasionally when i retested over a longer time period. this wasn't even a particularly stressed system (980x [email protected]). eventually i just worked out what was stable for a week and then dropped 100MHz off it, figuring that would be enough of a margin.

i prolly won't o/c this 8700k at all, too much hassle for the performance gain.

Many thanks 8Pack! My binned 8700k arrived this morning along with all the other goodies! I nearly threw it out as I wasn't expecting it until next week. I thought the roll of bubble wrap was more packing until it caught the light as I put it on the pile with the rest! It's a shame I'm out for the day, it's gonna kill me waiting haha. At least it's weekend after that...

Not avx workloads no.

I say our testing is non avx quite clearly. Prime version upto 26.6 and Realbench is our verification testing.

Your cooling is the bare minimum.

The best stress test is to use your system.

Quick update to my bundle
You can now get it with:
hero, Taichi or gigabyte gaming 7 boards. Just select option.

Cooling options including no cooler

Cpu's which are binned and delid 5- 5.2ghz

16GB 3600 c16 mem

These bundles will get priority on future binned cpu's after I fulfill current backlog in order.

Is LLC working properly on the Taichi with BIOS 1.10? Using LLC1 with 1.42 V set in the BIOS I get up to 1.44 V in idle according to the CPU-Z, dropping to 1.36 V in Cinebench. Getting 1.4 V under load would bring me very close to 1.5 V idle.

I tested this bios on Wednesday and noticed this also. In a beta bios I had previously it's working correctly. I reported it to asrock.

For me about 1.45v idle gives 1.4 load.

Set level 1 llc.

Thanks. Are there any settings that can improve stability under OC for the Taichi? It is a bit disappointing for me right now. I used this CPU for a few days in the cheapest ASUS mobo and had it run 50x core 47x uncore with 1.36 V under load, memory was 3866. But now on the Taichi I am at 50x core 44x uncore and need 1.40 V under load for that. Memory is 2666, not even OC yet.

Edit: Locking frequency to 5 GHz via Windows energy options reduces the delta between idle and load voltages. About 40 mV less now in idle. Also have to set 1.45 V in BIOS to get 1.4 V load.

Gonna do some mem OC in the mean time. Overall the Taichi is an upgrade. EFI does not require me to us the mouse occasionally, no horrendous input lag on the mouse there either. Fan control treats me like an adult, Good mem OC. Just the CPU OC part is worse than expected.
