Huge advances in technology where made. if it wern't for ww2 + the cold war you wouldn't have a mobile phone or a gps navigator in your car.
Quite a few advances in medical technology have come about because of the increased funding though including a nano particle impregnated bandage which has successfully stopped aortic bleeding.
ww2 also gave us nuclear weapons which almost certainly stopped the cold war becoming a hot bloody ww3.
+ lots of other medical and technological advances from each of them.

I for one can say I have read a lot of stuff about 9/11. I have also watched a lot of documentaries and films about 9/11.
Let me say before I had read and watched all the stuff I would have been in the "You are a conspiracy theory nut job" camp.
You say they are only theories but I would disagree. A lot of people who use the "These people are crazy conspirarcy theory idiots" type of rhetoric are the one who have not done any sort of research into 9/11 and just believe the lies they are told. Are all the US and foreign politicians who openly question 9/11 nuts as well? Are all the scientists who question 9/11 nuts? Are all the demolotion experts who question 9/11 nuts? Are the new york fire fighters who question 9/11 nuts? Are all the airline pilots who question 9/11 nuts? Is the former head of ALL US security nuts for questioning 9/11? Are the US army, CIA and FBI people who question 9/11 nuts? Are the journalists who question 9/11 nuts? There are so many credible people who have questioned the events of 9/11. Are conspiracy theory people nuts because we don't always believe what the governments and controlled news media tell us? Who is nuts the ones who are sceptical and don't automatically believe everything the governments and news media tell us or the ones who do?
As I have said earlier if you want to know all about 9/11 read Solving 9-11 The Deception That Changed the World. The conspiricy theorist journalist who wrote that book took 9 years in doing so. It is a very well researched book and full of provable facts. He puts a very convincing view of 9/11 and why it happened.
Some good films about 9/11 are Blueprint for Truth, The New American Century. 9/11 Press for Truth, 911: The Road to Tyranny and fasbled enemies. All can be watched for free on sites like you tube and google video.
I have friends who say no way would the american government be behind 9/11. No way would the government kill it's own people. Well as somebody has said they done it with Pearl Harbour. It has been openly admited by the American government they knew 3 weeks before Pearl Harbour happened that it was going to happen. They knew the precise date. Allowing Pearl Harbour to happen gave them a way into the war. There are other instances where for their own benefit the US government has allowed their own people to be killed. During prohibition the government realised it wasn't working. To frighten people they poisoned the alcohol. Resulting in aproximately 10.000 people being killed. In 1976 the CIA tested chemical weapons on people in the New York underground. there are many more examples like this.
All the above is not conspiracy theory nonsense. It is provable via the use of declassified documents.

(1) A group of angry Muslims who lived in caves with no amenities came to America and took over 4 airplanes with razorblades and then drove these impossibly large planes with limited flight experience into the twin towers and the Pentagon like professional pilots. (Note several were found to be alive after 9/11.). The Muslims hate America because of our freedoms.

(2) Bombs and demolition explosives were planted in the WTC towers 1,2, and 7 which brought them down at free fall speed into their own footprint: and a fairy tail-like cover-up story was delivered to the world that over 100 stories fell straight down into themselves, concrete and metal completely pulverized, defying all known architectural and natural physics.

7) There were warnings of the impending attacks from at least 17 other countries. Also prior to 9/11, insiders such as John Ashcroft, top military officers, and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown were warned not to fly.
8) In September of 2000, a group of neocon hawks, many of whom would become key officials in the Bush administration, wrote that their proposed massive military buildup would proceed slowly "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event — like a new Pearl Harbor."
9) Some of the alleged 9/11 "suicide hijackers" are still alive and well, according to the BBC and The Guardian. At least five of the alleged hijackers may have trained at U.S. military bases, as reported in Newsweek and other sources.
10) The Bush administration resisted the formation of the 9/11 Commission for 441 days. Similar investigations, such as those for Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination, and the space shuttle disasters, all started in about one week.
11) "The Jersey Girls" — four courageous 9/11 widows — finally forced the 9/11 Commission into existence and presented many questions, most of which were ignored. Under the leadership of Bush administration insider Philip Zelikow, the final report failed to address any of the evidence pointing to official complicity.
12) Bush said he saw the first plane impact the towers before he entered the classroom. This was impossible as footage of the first crash did not emerge until the next day. Also why did he go into the classroom if he knew a plane had just hit one of the twin towers? Was his classroom visit that important?
13) BBC reporter Jane Standley announced the collapse of the 3rd building 20 minutes before the building actually collapsed. Is Jane a psychic? Nothing hit the 3rd building so why did it collapse in minutes? Why did it collapse like a controlled demolition?
14) Osama Bin Laden has never been charged with any of the crimes of 9/11. On the FBI’s most wanted list, Bin Laden is wanted for other acts of terror, but not 9/11. He has never been indicted with any crime related to 9/11 in the 8 years since the so-called ‘attacks’. Why is this? Because there is apparently no concrete evidence relating Bin Laden to 9/11. Even Bin Laden himself denied being behind the attacks. His official statement was “While I am happy the attacks happened it was nothing to do with me”. Why would he deny it if he was happy it happened?
15) 9/11 Commission's Chief Counsel says Official Story "Almost Entirely Untrue . . . There Was an Agreement Not to Tell the Truth about What Happened"
16) The government used communist style minders to intimidate witnesses to the 9/11 Commission.

Lets just take this one point shall we, so your theory hinges on the fact that Jane among hundreds of other journalists had prior information of the attack and was reading from a script?
So this expands the security risk of this operation consideribaly we are nw to be levie that hundreds of people (possibly thousands) where involved including members of the press and all have kept thier mouths shut?
None of them not 1 has decided to break possibly the greatest story in the history of the public media and in the process become fabulously wealthy?

But it isn't and you don't.
You are so ignorant that you don't even realise that your version of events is impossible without alien technology far in advance of our own.
As for (1), I read about attacks of that type in a political thriller novel years before it happened. It was a fairly obvious idea.
Prior to the attacks, all plane hijackings ended with the plane on the ground and the hijackers making demands, so it was indeed possible to hijack a plane with knives.
It wasn't a particularly difficult piece of flying. Taking off is hard. Landing is hard. Flying into something very large is not so hard.
If you think religion cannot be a motive for violence, you're mad.
Do you think they would be allowed to get that far? They would be dead. Research how many people who have tried to expose 9/11 have died in mysterious circumstances.

Anyone want to make bets on it being more than a couple? There's bound to be a couple, given that many people die and everything is suspicious to those who have faith in wildly implausible conspiracy theories. Car crashes, for example. Which obviously hardly ever happen without the secret conspiracy causing them.
Try telling that to the airline pilots who say without navigation aid from control towers it would be impossible to find and crash into the twin towers with such accuracy. Also lots of airline pilots question the way the planes were supposed to have flew. They say the manouvers the supposed hijackers pulled off would have been impossible unless done by a very experienced pilot with excellent flying skills. They guy who trained the hijackers to fly said they were rubbish pilots and would never had made proper pilots. Experienced pilots have looked at the training the hijackers done and said no way would they have had enough knowledge to fly the planes.

Personally I think there are too many odd happenings and coincedences surrounding the events of September 9th 2001, not to wonder if the official story is partially or totally fake.

What? Are you saying without alien technology it would have been impossible to blow the towers up with preplanted explosives? Try telling that to eye witnesses and firefighters who clearly heard and saw bombs going off in the towers.
The offical version of events is that fire made the towers collapse. Is that alien technology?
